Tsk-tsk-tsk… You should know by now, Blue, that NOBODY knows the mind of God. Well, except maybe those who have a “personal relationship” with God. In which case God always seems to agree with whatever personal agenda they might have. Well, they DO SAY the Lord is mysterious.

I must ask you to prove this assertion, that the universe was designed. If you can not, then you are unable to prove a god via this hypothesis.

I know, I am still pissed at a god (if it was the culprit) who gave me a spine designed for four legged locomotion but made me walk upright.
Then again, if there was a god, it burdened humanity with lumbar problems. Sick asshole !!!
That raises an interesting question: did this god deliberately inflict this disability on humans before Adam and Eve ate the apple?

Obviously Jesus never read the OLD TESTAMENT. 100% Jesus did not describe Hell that way and any quote saying he did is a forgery. Jesus was Jewish. Hell was invented by the Christians and long after Jesus. Hell, as the place of weeping and gnashing of teeth, is not mentioned in the Old Testament . The term “hell” derives from “Hades,” a Greek term that appears only ten times in the New Testament. JESUS NEVER KNEW ABOUT THE CHRISTIAN HELL!

Claim and Argumentum Ad Populum. Provide objective evidence to back this assertion as there is no historical, empirical, contemporary, or archaeological evidence that the Gospel Jesus ever existed. You are making a claim and in doing so you automatically accept the Burden of Proof.

The Bible is a claim, not evidence. It no more can back up it’s claims than Harry Potter can verify the existence of witchcraft, or Abraham Lincoln the Vampire Hunter proves that vampires exist as it gives no evidence for the claims it makes. It is historical fiction.

When you make God Claims you automatically accept the Burden of Proof and therefor it is your responsibility to prove it.

Since there are no contemporary accounts of anything Jesus is alleged to have said or done, and all the claims are mere conjecture based on second or third hand hearsay, why would I care?
So again why would I care about your subjective unevidenced opinion of what a hearsay claim means? Life evolved, that is an objective fact, supported by overwhelming objective evidence.
Brilliant? Well aren’t you sweet, but while appeals to my intellectual vanity might put a smile on my face for a moment, they are not sound arguments. Also you have offered no facts, only subjective unevidenced opinion, based on hearsay from the bible. That also looks suspiciously like a form of no true Scotsman fallacy. The last part is definitely a begging the question fallacy, since you can’t rationally just assume creation in your argument for a creator, as with all begging the question fallacies it is also a circular reasoning fallacy of course.

Just discount everything he says as if, he is an idiot, even though we all know that is not the case. Just pretend he is not making any sense at all. Pretend everything he said was complete jibberish. Call him “immature, ignorant, and childish.” And then, just repeat the exact same assertion you just made as if you did not hear him at all.
Nothing will piss him off more! And I love it when Sheldon finally reaches the end of his rope. He is so fucking patient with people until he gets to that last thread. Once there, he just loses it and he is funny as hell! He can sling insults with the best. I have been rolling in tears of laughter on more than one occasion because of Sheldon’s witty retorts. And this event has been attributed to every God on the planet. Atheism is about asking for evidence from those claiming to have knowledge of Gods. I don’t recall anything in the Atheist Manifesto about worshiping a sunrise on December 25th. Why would a December sunrise, a single event, be significantly different from any other sunrise and what would make this one especially “Atheist.”
I don’t mind if christians claim Christmas as their own. Because once a year they act nice.

Oh dear. You missed my point, Cognostic. As an outspoken, ardent atheist, the last thing i would ever advocate is WORSHIPING the sun—or doing any thing that is remotely religious. Yuck.
My point about Christmas is that it is NOT a religious celebration—it was made into one by meddling Christians. The original meaning of this holiday was celebrating the winter solstice—a perfectly natural event that really is worth celebrating—it marks the end of winter and a “rising sun” that “brings light & replenishment”. Superstitious people gave names to the sun and worshiped it as a god, but that was just goop added on to the real meaning of the celebration, which I’m all for. It’s 100% natural.
The winter solstice celebration and Dec. 25 actually PISS on religion. Even the Bible banned Christmas trees.
