Gods can't prove their existence

Cheers. Oh and believe me, sometimes I want to scream “wake up” at some of the religious crazies.

I occasionally look at You Tube videos from The Atheist Experience. It’s not great because all they ever get calling in are poorly educated people with a high opinion of themselves, but today I saw a fabulous one. A guy from Texas called the show to say he had a question which proved of God. (I want to play a fanfare here)

Look at the Earth in space. What’s holding it up?

Don’t know about you but I’m convinced :joy::rofl::joy::rofl:

Umm…gravity? But no, theists are going to resort to “magical thinking” and say that it is the Divine Power of GAWD, or something like that. We really need to fix our education system, here in the USA.

LOL>>>> Gravity!!! Ha ha ha ha ha , And what is holding up the gravity? The answer is ridiculous. You have no idea at all what is “holding up” the universe. You have no idea at all of what may exist outside our local version of the universe. NONE Can you demonstrate the existence of gravity beyond Planck time?

Holding up? What in the hell makes you think the universe needs to be held “up.” “Held up from what?” "And which frigging way do you imagine is ‘up.’

Gravity my ass!

Do you ever actually look at the stuff you say? Honestly, for a supposed atheist your critical thinking skills are woefully lacking. Do you know what an ‘assertion’ is? Do you realize that when you make one, you carry the burden of proof?

Do you know what it means to ‘have the burden of proof?’ Why would you adopt a burden of proof with an inane assertion, when it is completely unnecessary? Honestly, BigNeerav you are as bad as a theist when it comes to making ungrounded assertions. How are you not seeing this?

Now see what you have done Cog? You/ve upset the big chap with all your poo flinging.

You are gonna have to exercise some control here Whitefire, maybe and some more ridges to the rolling pin…

Someone needs to do it. To me, nothing is as silly as a self proclaimed atheist making the exact same mistakes in logic and reason as the theists.

Ahhh - it takes time - something you’ve had oodles of.

Patience.

Btw - you seem awfully attached to his learning and ability to argue :sunglasses:

Now it’s time to suffer!!!

God damn it - BARNEY!!! Where the fuck did I put my rolling pin???

Is that really a rolling pin. It looks like a prop from a porn film, not that I’ve ever seen…I mean…as you were…

:persevere:

Honestly, a better answer than most. At least we know turtles are real.

Some people are so stupid they ask what’s under the turtle.

Ffs, its turtles all the way down mun…

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

"You won’t fool me with that, young man. It’s turtles all the way down".

Wow! You seem really upset. I think you’re being a little harsh.

Gravity is not an unproven assertion. It is one of the fundamentals of our universe and has been demonstrated and consistently proven since Newton. Indeed, the current understanding of the universe only works with gravity as a constant. Without gravity there would be no galaxy clusters, no galaxies, no stars orbiting a central point, no planets and other bodies orbiting stars and, it must be noted, no life on earth. Whilst we do not know precisely what happened at the moment of our universe’s beginning, we do know what happened immediately following it and the ‘inflation’ of spacetime and the creation of all matter therein into what we now know as the universe would not have occurred as it did without gravity as a modifier.
The effects of gravity were first ‘proven’ in the Cavendish experiment in 1798. It is described by Einstein as the effect of mass moving within spacetime, curved by the uneven distribution of mass.

But I suspect you are testing and that you know this already.

A constant in what? :relaxed:

What you talk about here is / has been, in “the works” for millennia! … where do I start? For starters, please don’t take offence, let’s be rational not reactional.
Having said that, you describing a sort of collective experience through the means of science, displayed as a reality… Makes me question you and weather you are a mole among true questioners or of you may have just like you said, been babbling at 2am half asleep?

Questioners of powerful controlling factors in our world, need to get as organized as them! Period. We need lodges, and PRIVATE conversations, not THIS.

Whether ffs…

The rest of that disjointed rant, seem little more than another relentless string of unevidenced assertions.

Please define logic for me, since you have implied the posters here are not conversing logically.

Everyone also knows that turtle is standing on a bigger one, and so on. .

Consequently, everyone knows the earth is flat .At school we were taught about the tragic voyage of Christopher Colon. That on his way home from discovering the new world he and his two other ships sailed off the edge of the earth. They were eaten by the turtle.

Well now, I haven’t read all the posters here, so… easy on the extremism.

Disjointed rant?? Because you’re not picking up what I’m trying to say, So you react to what I say or take it somehow personally and attack me because its so difficult to peice together What im saying?

But this is the culture we live in, isn’t it. Division, set in stone bias, unless it’s something new and exciting and fits with what we already believe.

Alrighty “Sheldon”. (Band wagon atheist)
