I am a 62 year old man, living in England. I earn a living as a freelance writer (magazine articles, web site content, etc) and I have been an amateur historian for decades.
I was raised as a Christian (Church Of England) but discovered a Jewish heritage when in my late teens. I converted and was fervent enough to move to Israel at 18 but learning about my new faith aroused my curiosity generally. Over the next five years, as I learned more, I slowly left my faith behind.
For many years I was as zealous as an atheist as I had been a Jew but today I am an agnostic atheist and I prefer to call myself a humanist.
