Don’t speak for “people” - speak for yourself. Science is built on observation, peer review, falseability. Modelling, maths, direct observation, etc… there is a high criteria and standard for evidence that has to be met.

Science is done by very intelligent people who want to make money and get funding from private companies, industries, and the government. And the competition is fierce.

I truly believe they’ve monopolized knowledge for the gain of money.

There can be “bottle necks” in funding - society is improving in financing various scientific studies (from technology to physics to medical research to archeology etc)

As far as I’m aware our whole complete society worldwide operates on a money system … so?

You’ll find corruption or fraud in any industry - AND you will find people doing what they love to better mankind and add to humanities’ well being. People do all sorts of things for all sorts of reasons.
Do you know how frauds are found out in the scientific fields?
Do you know why it’s so “competitive”?

However Antarctica isn’t getting any bigger. The polar bears aren’t getting any fatter, and the world is in the grips of a pandemic.

I have a wife; a cat; car payments; rent; an aging mother; and many other fetters binding me to a worldly life. Of course, I’ve thought about it many times. I’d go homeless. Buy some really good camping gear. Winters are harsh up north. Maybe some flannel underwear to keep my balls warm.

The funny thing about having no future; and being stuck in the past is that if you’re living with repressed memories, you have to wake up every single day and learn how to let that shit go.

Because the only way to live in the present and look forward to the future is to NOT be stuck in the past. If there’s no space left in your memory banks because there’s a clog in the sink, you simply can’t move on. You relive the trauma every day. It doesn’t matter if you were five when it happened to you. Those same insecurities or destructive drives (viz. giving up; walking away from a supportive marriage; sabotaging things with drugs and alcohol) - they follow you everywhere.

My life is a survival game. My wife is also in survival mode. We can’t all be haughty taughty University Intellectuals with properties here and there underneath our six figure pay check - now can we, monkey Man?

Umm, no. Many understood his hypothesis. But no one could accept it because it had not been proven. Only when Eddington made his famous observations of an eclipse in 1919 was Einstein’s theory proven and accepted. Only then did Einstein become a rock star.
