Wait … the tariff charge is almost double the price of the item?

That’s pretty much a guaranteed way of ensuring a catastrophic crash in sales.

Meanwhile, this is a long video clip, but apparently it’s gone viral, because an actual economist, after describing the current US political and economic situation as “crazy land”, and makes reference to Mickey Mouse policy, then apologises to Mickey Mouse for the comparison.

Now, I’m not cognisant of Jeffrey Sachs’ politics in depth, but the quick information check I performed places him among the sane people. He’s been involved in policy advice to the UN, moves to promote sustainable development, reduce poverty, and headed a climate change research body. He mentions in that video, the climate change body in question, and reported that the scientists he oversaw in that body told him the global situation was dire, and was getting worse with each new research paper being published.

He also discusses a number of other issues, but the time he spends subjecting Trump’s wackiness to suitable trashing is worth watching on its own.

Ah, the revolving door has started turning. It took much longer than I expected.

Sigh… he’s now nominated Waltz to be the u.s. ambassador to the UN, and Rubio will be the national security advisor. One step forward, two steps back

Ah, the FAFOs that can result from a culture of ghastliness and maladriotness.

Now on to ousting the Orange creature who keeps imagining that executive orders have the force of law, and citizens and officials must follow them in preference to statutes.

Gee, I wonder what idiot he’ll dig up to replace Rubio as SecState?

Pauly Shore was in a movie about the Army that one time…

This would be in keeping with The Con’s horrendously bad cabinet appointments, so I’m putting this into the internet idea sphere now for the potential entertainment value.

That was a long time coming tbh, even for Trump, his inability to ever admit of an error in any way, or of any kind, is simply astonishing. That video interview where the interviewer explains he thought the photo of the deported man’s hands had been falsified to add the gang initials is simply hilarious, that a) Trump ever fell for that, and b) that he thinks anyone else would, and c) that he doubles down on the claim when it is exposed as a lie.

This example, while revealing, is not the stuff nightmares are made of. But now imagine a scenario where the U.S. is involved in a Cuban missile crisis scenario with Russia or China and mistakes are made on both sides, but Trump refuses to admit his mistakes and doubles down and that leads to war, or even a nuclear exchange.

Why not? They fall for the bullshit associated with their religion, so falling for Trump’s bullshit isn’t that much of a stretch.

That seems fitting, as many of his magats, seemed to think the President can set fuel prices at whatever they want…bless em.

Proving once again that white evangelicals are morally depraved hypocrites. They of all people should have serious reservations about Trump given his obvious Biblical illiteracy, inability to tell the truth, and serial adultery alone, much less his dozens of other character problems. But they will embrace anything or anyone that gives them the control over others that they crave.

Instead of biblical illiteracy, I would have lead with he’s a fucking rapist!

He is, but to the evangelicals the ends justify the means, and if that means they have to put up with Trump’s character flaws that go against everything they claim to hold dear, then so be it.

When he pulls shit like this how can the pre-deluded resist?

Trump, brushing aside separation of church and state, establishes religious liberty commission

“They say separation between church and state … I said, ‘All right, let’s forget about that for one time,’” the president said during a Rose Garden event celebrating National Prayer Day.“‘
