I agree, and would suggest that these notions have been stewing in the minds of some for a while.
The rhetoric and right wing hideousness of the current head of the U.S. executive have enabled such folks to feel comfy in spewing their Middle Ages idea filth, I think.
I also think that the profound level of their delusion is protecting them from understanding what the effect of such ideas in practice would have on other people.

âOh, they wonât do that to me! Thatâs only for the brown people I donât like.â
âI didnât think the leopards would eat MY face.â
Youâd think theyâd at LEAST object to the complete sloppy ineptitude and total absence of even the SLIGHTEST process, much less due process, which which these abductions occur. If you have white skin but a tattoo, or once wrote a letter to the editor critical of the mayor, then youâre suspicious.
Heck I am white, hetero, cis, male, upper middle class and never had anything worse against my record than a parking ticket, but my Luxembourgish family name could be mistaken as Hispanic by some dipshit border guard. Plus I donât go to church. Veeerrry suspicious!
My similarly whitebread daughter was grilled by the US border guard upon re-entry from Canada, demanding to know what she had been doing there. She said she dropped her son off for a flight to France. âWhy would anyone go to France?â was his provocative question. âUm ⌠for a 3 month internship through his university?â
They were probably just asking questions in an adversarial manner to try to put people off-center and get them to panic about something theyâre really guilty of, I suppose ⌠but if this is indicative of the sort of rigorous police work we can expect from border authorities, no one is safe.

Iâve said it before, and Iâm saying it again - US immigration is by far the worst I have experienced when going abroad. And Iâve also heard US citizens saying the same. Immigration officers are supposed to be strict, but it is quite possible to do your job diligently without being an asshole. Actually, I wouldnât be surprised if US immigration officers are trained to be assholes during work hours.

The VP of El Salvador told Senator Van Hollen (who has traveled there to investigate the situation) that the reason they are holding Kilmar Abrego Garcia at CECOT is because the Trump administration is paying them to do so.

The Trump administration is threatening to withhold billions of federal dollars from public schools that serve low-income children, unless they sign documents attesting that they do not use âillegal D.E.I. practices.â Those funds pay for, among other things, teachersâ aides, counselors and free meals.
Oh no! Free meals! Thatâs SoCiAlIsM!

Right. Dry that one out and one could use it as fertilizer.
