If of all the gods Loki was proved 100% to exist, and played a trick on you, would you believe in him? Would he be worthy of worship?
If a misogynist, contradictory god that approved of infanticide and was homophobic and insisted that all children should suffer sexual mutilation in order to be accepted was proven to exist…would you worship it?
Could you tell the difference between a god and the representative of a sufficiently technologically advanced race that cured all human ills at once?
Ah, yes, there is a subtle difference there. I actually thought of that briefly when writing that post, but didn’t dwell on it too long. But, yeah, while I would have to believe it exists, I would certainly not have to believe in it. Glad you pointed that out.
Nah. Would not worship him. Wouldn’t mind hanging out with him now and then, though. Actually, can’t think of anything or anybody I WOULD ever worship, no matter how real or imaginary they are. The way I see it, anything/anybody that demands to be worshipped is an insecure narcissist and not worthy of respect. Just my personal opinion.
Christians dont seem to stop and think that their so called relationship in “God” is a master / slave para relationship. Entertaining the idea that a Heaven exists, its not a retirement or permanent vacation. They’re going to be praising dear leader with songs, bowing, and scraping for eternity from sun up to sun down. Heaven sounds just like what Christopher Hitchens described it to be, North Korea and God is their Eternal Leader.
