Ah, but Grasshopper, are we not all alike in our differences?
Maybe not. However, we are all definitely different in our similarities.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
That which you now see
With blind eyes of ancient past
Makes you as you were
And they look but do not see
They listen but do not hear
They speak but say nothing
“When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence…”
(Courtesy of the legendary Simon & Garfunkel, ladies and gentlemen.)
We know not
What we do not know.
And what we do know
Is always uncertain.
I seek not to know all the answers, but to understand the questions.
It is with a heavy heart that I joyfully mourn the passing of ignorant wisdom.
Be ye not afraid or mournful of that which is not, but rather, celebrate the existence of the unseen and unknown for which there cannot be any confirmation save the undeniable proof contained within the confidence instilled through true wisdom.
We must appreciate those precious gifts
We were never given.
For by never having possessed
Their priceless value
We shall treasure them all the more
Within the void we filled
With lesser gems.
Under the suffocating confines
Of our own self-imposed freedom
We struggle easily
With the complex simplicity
Surrounding duplicitous singularities
As we wander with aimless purpose
On a lonely crowded path.
The specificity which resides in ambiguity is an overwhelming insignificance. Lack of imagination, contained within creativity, is nothing more than the deafening silence amid the raucous persistence of compatible contradiction. Ignorant enlightenment negates the deliberate accident as does the blind vision of the sleeping orator.
Dude! Get out of my head already! I was sitting here just now thinking that exact same thing! Wow!
Brilliance seeks itself. We are but fountains of knowledge and others should freely drink from us.
Nothing can make you as you were. This is one of life’s great illusions. You can only be as you are, trying to be as you were, but you will never get there. People who go through life looking backwards are doing it the wrong way. People who are always looking forward will miss the day.
Oh yea, WOW! I just had the same thought! Meee tooo Meee tooo, Oh yeah, I’m brilliant too.
*The journey of a bird in the hand begins in a glass house.
*All good things never boil.
*A picture is worth all your eggs in one basket.
*Don’t bite the hand that is next to a watch pot.
*Don’t put off till tomorrow playing with fire.
*Actions speak louder than judging a book by its cover.
*Don’t count your chickens if you can’t beat them.
*When you play with fire you’re going to get the worm.
*If you want something done right, keep your friends close.
*The grass is always greener when the squeaky wheel gets the oil.
*There’s no time like a free lunch.
*There’s no place like Rome.
*When in Rome, two heads are better than the pen.
*Time is mightier than a bird in the hand.
*If you want something done right you can’t always get what you want.
*Where there’s smoke do as the Romans do.
Perhaps. However, when that bird throws stones at burning bridges, the half-full glass quickly becomes half-empty.
(Show some promise, you do. But much to learn you still have, young Padawan.)
Ummmmm… Last time somebody drank freely from me, I almost got sued for some type of health code violation. So I may need to consult my lawyer before I allow that again.
