I’m not sure you understand that all of your arguments come across as strawman fallacies. It appears as if you don’t actually know the subjects but know apologetic rebuttals which are wrong. They also make presumptions based on their interpretation, they like to put us in specific boxes not realising that we stepped out of the box. That’s why you can’t just say we have to think like this. No, you have to conclude as prescribed.
Leaving aside all the personal digs one receives during these arguments…
This is very simple. It started with the question Why I believe. I said I believe because the Universe didn’t come from nothing.
Do you have a problem with that statement?
I also said that if you’re happy with what you believe and I’m happy with mine, what’s the real problem you have an issue with?
I don’t have an issue, you came to atheist page to convert or just talk to us?
What happened before the first sentence in the bible?
I just wanna talk to you guys.
Before the Bible was God eternal or in “modern” language philosophy terms … there was an Infinity or an Infinite multiverse.
This sounds like some self invented denomination, never before have I heard someone proclaimed to be christian willfully denouncing god’s creation.
What do I make with this statement?
Mis-interpreting perhaps?
You asked me essentially What existed before the universe. I said God eternal …. Or a non Christian answer would be: the multiverse or infinity.
You still have not caught on. The time to believe something, anything, is when there is evidence for that thing. No one claimed there is no god. I claimed your version of god is not there and that is specifically basded on the evidence you have provided. The fallacious “You don’t know what caused the universe therefore God.” Your “God of the Gaps” position is fallacious, based on complete ignorance; The reason it is called an argument from ignorance," and only serves to make you look stupid. You don’t see anything. You create a story without facts or evidence supporting your assertion.
Your choice of god is extremely relevant. You might actually have a real god and until you define it for us we can not make any determination at all as to the reality of your god. As you have used a fallacious first cause argument, you have not given an adequete definition. All you have asserted is that your god thing caused the Big Bang. You made up a story and we have no reason to believe that story. Demonstrate 1. that your god thing is real. 2. That it had something to do with the Big Bang.
All you have done is make an assertion. All we are asking is why do you believe this stupidity without facts or evidence to support your claim.
What makes you think there is a “why” for the universe existing. You can ask the question 'Why" ad-infintum. If there is an absolute 'Why?" no one knows it yet. The proper question is “How?”
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha … A Christian who does not even understand his own creation story,. I love it. He obviously works on a cherry farm.
Trust me, we are not missing anything,.
So for some reason I can’t quote anymore but you’re still can’t get out of your programming.
Your programming is so deep it’s like a virus and not allowing you to read or even think or allow you to ask questions beyond your programming.
Let’s try again: Do you know why the Big Bang happened? The answer is NO, otherwise we wouldn’t be having this convo and the millions of people before us and after us.
So since we don’t know, I BELIEVE that God created this universe.
I don’t know your official position yet but if you’re an atheist you’re only allowed to say “I don’t know” or have no opinion.
Anything else is philosophy.
Do you understand all of this? Do you have any issues or questions with this thought process?
Because you are trying to impose limits on thought while I have no issue with your thoughts or anybody else’s thoughts.
But I like quotes. they make things more readable
This is a God of the Gaps argument. Do you not understand it is “FALLACIOUS.” All you did was make an assertion. The same thing can be said about Universe Creating Bunnies, Eric the Rainbow Farting Unicorn, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster. You have no EVIDENCE for your claim. You don’t get to just insert a fantasy into a causal relationship with the origin of the universe. That’s just stupid.
Your thought process is “FALLACIOUS.”
This can also be an deistic god. This in itself is a philosophy. I think that it was evidently inevitable, I don’t really care why, I don’t think that is a valid question. I like how questions.
Let say for the sake of conversation that god did made this (regardless of where he was and where he made this) how do you get to personal god from “I don’t know what caused Big Bang”
Ok if we want to get technical about the thought process then YOU need to explain right now YOUR position so I CAN EVALUATE your thought process.
Are you in contradiction with your thought process? Because I’m not in mine. I BELIEVE because there is NO proof for existential questions.
Okay I like where you’re going with this.
See, this is the key to my discussion here. Why do some people ask HOW and not Why and why are they content with this choice?
This is many steps before going into Christian books and talking about a personal god.
This is basically the very first step what takes one on a journey of belief vs non belief.
Do you stop existing if you don’t know the answer? How is any of those philosophical questions existential in its nature?
Just look at my previous answer to you because it’s the same answer and let’s continue that if you don’t mind.
How do you get to the point of searching answer in the religion?
Yes great question.
So when you believe that all of this existence is not random, you then begin a search for a creator . This is a long process. It can take many years.
During this process or journey people can take different paths.
Some people believe in UFOs .
Some people believe in Buddha.
Some people believe in Islam.
Some people believe in pantheism.
Max Tegmark (a mathematician) believes that reality is math.
Nick Bostrom (a scientists) says that we live in the matrix.
I happened to find more truth in Christianity and Jesus Christ. And THIS IS WHERE we can begin to talk about the details and all the evidence that you’re looking for. This is where a lot of tired old debates will come into play such as you don’t believe testimonies while also believing your testimony about an event. This is where we are going to go into arguments such as :when someone says “I’m in pain” why even react if we don’t believe their testimony?
But I first wanted to pause on the very first step of the journey. The very first step of asking The Why.
To be fair, I don’t care why. So no more steps for me. I pretty much understood very well how and that is what I care about.
Deep down there is no why question. When we ask why, what we mean is how we can do the same.
