Yeah we have a 25th amendment for a REASON.
There are some MAGA GOP starting to make uncomfortable noises, we’ll see if it goes far enough to matter. Not holding my breath.
Trump shat the following:
“Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize…”
Firstly: It’s not Norway the country that hands out the Nobel Peace Prize, it’s the Norwegian Nobel Committee on behalf of Alfred Nobel’s estate. The only connection with the country Norway is that the Norwegian Parliament was asked by Nobel’s estate to appoint the members of the committee. The king, the prime minister, the government, the parliament, or any other Norwegian officials have no say whatsoever as to who wins the prize, as that is purely up to the committee to decide. Those who do not understand this after having it explained by government officials would have to be incredibly dense and/or suffering from ill will.
Secondly: I am quite sure this has been explained in excruciating detail for the Orange, but the prize is given for stuff you have already done, and the cutoff is the 31st of January. And you can, of course, not nominate yourself. And all this is written in the rules, for all to read (perhaps this is the point that trips Orange up). But following the rules seems to not be a character trait that fits him.
