REMEMBER it was only in March 2020 (2 years ago) that conspiracy theorists — “[coronavirus deniers] — had been using the hashtag #FilmYourHospital to [encourage people] to visit local hospitals to take pictures and videos to prove that the COVID-19 pandemic was an elaborate hoax.
That was super interesting. I love the term mask slacker !
We had someone pushing that view to others at work; while our co-worker was in the ICU from the pandemic.
I’ve always been a skeptic/pessimist/cynic so it is very rare that I error on the side of being too optimistic (instead I commonly make the other mistake). I was way too optimistic of humanities ability to deal with a pandemic. I was so wrong it is embarrassing.

The small group busted there were planning to murder the RCMP. And had a little arsenal. IF I was an officer, I’d be smiling and nodding my head…anything to get them back home.
I once had some lady steal my planters at the edge of my driveway. She was a new neighbour and I noticed them in her yard 
- so I took them back. She came over to my place to “explain” that she thought I didn’t want them anymore. I told her she should have asked first. Then she had the nerve to try to hug me (it was a move to try to make her feel better). We’ve never talked. Not like we have to - more than enough space.
IMO…Trudeau calling for the Emergency Act is Federal government over-reach. It is an extraordinary measure, requiring a high burden of evidence.
The Premiers of (some) Provinces have made clear they do not want it in their/our Province.

I am more than unhappy with Trudeau. His normal behavior is just to “please, let us talk it over”. But he is under obvious pressure to actually act, and went to this extreme which I oppose.
The last time an act of this magnitude was done was by his father, Pierre, in 1970. Hmm, I do wonder if there is a correlation?
IT could be argued that Pierre used it given the kidnapping and one death of MPs and the very real threats and actions of terrorism at that time by the FLQ
HOWEVER Justin has invoked it based on “fear of” (preemptive) 
NOT a viable reason. No actions (yet) to warrant this degree of strong arming BECAUSE the RCMP are well within already existing Canadian Law to deal with it.
Justin should leave the policing to the RCMP, and if it was beyond them and obvious (bombing, shooting officers, holding citizens literally hostage, etc) then I’m sure Canadians would be letting “Ottawa” know…
A pattern I’ve seen repeated in my Province. It happened this past summer (2021) when we “opened” for business.

All summer when Alberta went off the charts with the Delta, our Chief Medical Officer was MIA (missing in action).
She is doing the same thing now. Letting us all know that she will NOT be available to answer questions after our endemic status kicks-in AND apparently the medical information used is “confidential”
The city will follow the province in removing the mask mandate, expected to happen March 1, but administration noted it was difficult to make alternate recommendations without science-based information.
“What I was hoping for was to be able to receive the information from the chief medical officer of health, and then in an informed manner lift our (mask) mandate. That’s not the way it went,” Gondek said.
When asked if the province would provide this information to the city, Francoeur said recommendations provided to cabinet cannot be released “due to cabinet confidentiality.”
