I have atheists and religious people both who are very nice and kind. I don’t think the shallow “niceness “ is the deeper issue. I think that most religious people keep us primitive and therefore is “NOT KIND”. But not all religions hold us back. It’s the Abrahamic Religions specifically that hinder progress. It’s the dogma and patriarchy that try to resist change. I believe we are “part of God”, therefore we should strive to make the world better and progressive.
It’s surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly) hard to tell a religious zealot from a troll or the genuinely mentally ill. I suppose it’s possible to be all three or any combination thereof.

I don’t happen to share your opinion. I don’t measure ‘better’ in terms of material progress. I measure it in terms of social justice and material equity. IMO there is no such thing as equality in people or systems.

Christians are the most intolerant,know it all,self righteous people I have ever ran into! What is even worse are people who have had substance abuse problems, drinking, gambling, addictions, etc. and are out to drag anybody they can find to drag them down the religious rabbit hole with them as they replace their addiction with church and religion! However, I have also ran into arrogant atheists, but at least they made more sense in discussions than a christian would.

I suggest you do some research on addiction, an addict, be it alcohol or drugs or sex or gambling, drag those close to them down into their messed up world. IMO it is not dependent on religion, but the inner workings of an addict.

Strictly speaking, if you’re an agnostic then it is a contradiction to make assertions about any deity, even a hypothetical assertion.
I think that needs a qualifying statement, like many Christians I’ve ran (sic) into, or generally speaking the Christians I’ve encountered etc… As it reads to me like an absolute.
Parenthetically I’ve met Christians where you’d not know they were Christian, unless you asked them. They never proffered any views on their beliefs unless solicited for them.
