How do you know that is what heaven is all about?
Heaven Will Be A City Built for Worship - Hebrews 12:22-23
All Nations and People Will Worship Jesus - Revelation 7:9-10 “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’” Revelation 7:9-10] (Revelation 7:9-10 - ESV Bible - After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude... In heaven, there will be no confusion about the Prince of Peace. Every saint, from every tribe and tongue will be clothed in robes of white, waving palm branches of genuine praise.
Heaven Will Be Filled with Peace, Joy, and Praise - Revelation 7:15-17
“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses” (Revelation 19:11-14).
“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
“They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever” (Revelation 22:4-5).
“Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.” – Revelation 20:6
BORING AS FUCK!
How do you know your god exists? Oh wait…you don’t. You just think you do.
And if he, or anyone, concedes that the existence of god is unknowable then those who claim to know are immediately excluded from any serious discussion.
The baseless claims stuff is a sticky wicket for the faithful.
lol which is most debates on here with the xtians that join. They read a book written by anonymous writers from the dark ages and get indoctrinated by their family. Suddenly they’re a know it all.
Well, frankly, when the “Holy Spirit” “enters” you, the experience is so “moving” as to erase all doubt and indeed supplants doubt with a righteous “knowing”. See?

Huh? (20 Characters Long)
@skriten You want to explain it to him, or should I?
I can’t say that I do. I have never been molested by this “holy spirit”. However, I do know where you’re coming from as several xtians, including my ex wife, have given me different stories about their “experiences” with their god claims.
Because I have never been “touched by god”, Christians of different walks of life have concluded that I was not “right with god” and that I was weak in “faith”. Which lead to them saying they were going to “pray for me” and advised me to do more church activities and take time praying. They even had me baptized for the the 4th time in an pool behind the altar filled with city water. AND as I expected NOTHING HAPPENED. As it was then as it is now, It is very hard for me to try and believe that these fairy tales are real. I cannot comprehend or see how xtians believe in a sky fairy, prayer, and magic. It just goes over my head and I’ve played plenty of Dungeons and Dragons, Elder Scrolls, and Lord of The Rings and it just didn’t happen.
Aha! See? THERE’S your problem! Playing all those sinful devil games has allowed that evil Satan to distract you from feeling the loving touch of The Lord Jesus Christ! While you are focused on wizards and dragons and trolls, Jesus is standing right behind you, his hand gently on your shoulder, wanting desperately for you to feel his touch. Jesus wants to be inside you! He wants to fill you with his love! And all you have to do is turn your eyes away from those sinful distractions, kneel down on all fours, and ask Jesus to enter you! Then you will experience that wonderful feeling others have been describing to you.
Go one better - the Catholic way! You’ll never see it coming while prostrate with eyes covered.
Holy entry must be easier with the element of surprise!
Edited for bigness
I feel like this played in the background as you typed that @Tin-Man
Blindly following doctrine is not morality, it is indoctrination.
Nor do I, though why you’re singling out women isn’t clear, but since abortions are legal and therefore not murder by definition, and abortions do no involve babies but blastocysts and less often insentient foetuses, your assertion is mere nonsensical hyperbole.
After coercing and terrorizing parents, not to mention adding immensely to the grief of parents who’s babies died unbaptized, the catholic church has changed it’s stance and says unbaptized babies can (maybe) go to heaven. So church teaching can change when it’s realized it’s a teaching that makes their god look like something of a dick, so maybe the stance on abortion of “save the baby even if doing so kills the mother, and force women to have their rapist baby” will eventually change too. Also, the majority of catholics in the U.S. ignore the supremely ignorant demand that they don’t use birth control, so there’s hope they’ll eventually ignore the churches equally ignorant stand against abortion.
You’d have to hope so, though in the meantime one should wonder how god’s moral arbiters on earth could cling to such pernicious and cruel views, but only of course if you’re a believing Catholic. Seeing the tragic consequences of blindly clinging to doctrine, as simply being part of the fallible nature of evolved human apes, shouldn’t create any cognitive dissonance at all.
I’m in favour of a woman’s right to choose, and that if you’re pro-life, it shouldn’t stop at birth.
Nurture life from birth until death, and if you’re REALLY pro-life, then it’s unquestionable that the death penalty should be abolished.
