Trump continues to rape the planet.

Why does Trump want to destroy the copyright office? Probably so the Tech Bros can continue to infringe on copyright to train their AI models.

I can’t imagine that this will please the majority of oligarchs, though. The trend up to now has been to extend copyright protections. It used to be that a copyright (for films anyway, but I think it was across the board) was 28 years with an optional renewal for another 28 years. So if we were still under that regime, here in 2025 anything produced before 1969 would be in the public domain. But there’s still money to be made on films of that vintage, so the law has been repeatedly weakened from its original intent, which was to allow an artist and his immediate successors to control and profit from their works – but not in perpetuity. Now we have an endless gravy train of exploitation, usually not even by the original artist anymore, but by the giant corporations that own the studios.

So for Trump to subvert this – yes the AI tech bros would want it but there are other powerful forces that would not. So I predict that this will be another clown show of a failure.

We called that blowback.

Trump is also 100% responsible for that young woman being there in the first place. The whole situation is of his construction. Now he’s using it as an excuse for an even more Draconian crack down on immigrants.

Seems to be only on immigrants who aren’t white and xtian.

Primarily, although now Trump’s rhetoric is shifting to say they will deport anyone ā€œwho does not love Americaā€. Eventually it comes down to Dear Leader’s whim, and there is no truly safe group.

Exactly. He’s strongly encouraging white South Africans to immigrate to the U.S.

Personally, I don’t ā€œlove Americaā€. I don’t hate it either–I’m neutral. There are too many black marks in our history–slavery, women’s rights, native genocide, segregation, etc–for me to be able to unabashedly love it.

Does that make me a candidate for deportation? As a native-born citizen who’s family has been here for nearly a hundred years before the American Revolution, I’d hope not, but I’m not putting anything past that fascist pedophile currently infesting the White House.

Trump is pardoning the former Honduran president, who was convicted of drug trafficking, while simultaneously blowing up boats in the Caribbean for drug running with no evidence to back up his claims. The hypocrisy is stunning, but not surprising.

No one aware of the mentality of the Orange Scrotum, is in the least bit surprised to discover that he’s pardoning criminals of this level. The membership of the Dirlewanger Brigade consisted of criminals.

What the Pomegranate Pustule wants, is his own Dirlewanger Brigade, to be sent out to commit all manner of atrocities against anyone he doesn’t like, so that he can masturbate to the ensuing horrors. He’s basically driven by sadistic spite, and he’s encouraged his swivel-eyed MAGA base to develop the same sick, twisted motivation, even if it wasn’t present beforehand.

Though in the case of the racists, he didn’t need to do much encouraging. All he needed to do was whip up their existing resentments and bigotries to fever pitch, in order to guarantee that they would swing behind him en masse.

Again I’m reminded of Julius Streicher, an individual who appealed to the lowest instincts in order to seize and cling to power. I’ve already covered his verminous excesses in another post elsewhere if memory serves, so reprising that should be superfluous here. The point being made here is that Baron von Shitzenpantz isn’t even setting a precedent in this regard, and there are probably individuals pre-dating Streicher who fall into the same category, though my historical knowledge doesn’t allow me to compile a list as yet.

There will always exist craven sociopaths seeking power by degrading others, and one of the proper purposes of society, is to ensure that they never succeed. Society itself has failed when they do.

Now the question is whether people will admit that society has failed, or correctly diagnose why, and then actually do something effective about it.

Meanwhile … this definitely wasn’t on my bingo card, but …

Apparently, Elon Musk ordered a change to be made to the features available on Xhitter. This feature allows one to discover where an account is based internationally, how many user name changes have been made, etc., all data that was previously hidden.

The MAGAsphere is about to blow an artery over this.

Why?

Because this feature has accidentally revealed, that many of the ā€œpatriot dadā€ accounts and other MAGA mouthpieces, are NOT based in the USA at all. Several have been found to be based, surprise, surprise, in former Warsaw Pact countries. Others are based in India. Some are also based in Singapore for some reason, and there’s even a few African accounts.

In other words, the accusations that these reich whinge mouthpiece accounts supporting the Orange Scrotum, are foreign. The number of such accounts based in Eastern Europe alone constitutes grounds for suspicion that these are Russian disinformation accounts.

The BBC here in the UK, covers this in more detail. Where it is revealed that, for example, the Trump Army account is actually based in India, the so-called IvankaNews_ account is actually based in Nigeria, and other examples will doubtless be revealed in due course.

One of the more hilarious results arising from this new data liberation, is that a number of accounts claiming to be supporters of Scottish independence, are actually based in places such as the Netherlands, and connect via, wait for it, an Iranian Android app.

Turns out some people are being wildly disingenuous about their true identities. The biggest offenders no doubt being Russian troll farms, but Nigerian scammers, some recently active Israeli attack accounts targeting Palestinian supporters, and other rogue elements are certainly taking part in the fake identity game.

To borrow a quote from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, ā€œThe smell of mendacity is in the airā€.

The U.S. killing people in international waters without any due process or evidence of violence…

Normally this would be unbelievable. In regard to the conduct of Orange’s administration the idea is now a relative banality.

As a military officer I operated by the obvious truth that when one kills people they can’t talk to them. The value of information from captured bad guys to work your way through a bad guy network has changed quite a bit since, apparently.

Like everything else in this regime, it is performative. In this case, some misguided form of performative masculinity. Everything must be ā€œmuscularā€, ā€œkineticā€, ā€œdecisiveā€. No more ā€œkid glove treatmentā€.

None of these people have read the military code or the constitution, or perhaps, have always considered them nuisances.

It is not even up to the standards of what a three year old would imagine actual strength to involve or be like.

I read today that a lot of the push for attacking Venezuela is coming from Marco Rubio, who has a weird desire to cater to a small number of Venezuelan refugees in Florida who want to be back in power. Yes, access to the biggest oil reserves in the world is greasing the skids for sure, but it’s ridiculous that the primary rationale is the interests of a handful of Venezuelan refugees with a lousy track record with governance and a desire to flatter Trump into attacking. It helps that Trump doesn’t read his daily briefing and just runs with whatever the last thing he heard was. I’m sure these fuckers are talking him into sacrificing American lives by suggesting there will be lucrative business deals to be had.

Venezuela’s oil is very difficult to extract and refine. It’s very heavy, sour crude with a high metals content. It’s more like tar and asphalt than what people normally associate with crude oil, and refining it is a bitch compared to West Texas crude, for example.
