Gladiator games, or the NFL; depends on which millennium we are in.
Rollerball. Classic depiction of corporations run wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States!
Did anyone see his excuse for an address at West Point?
Imagine spending four years working hard to graduate from there, and your passing out day is ruined by the Orange Scrotum.
Yeah, it must be nice for those graduates to realize theyâre now going to be spreading democracy around the world at the point of a gun (when theyâre not stamping out drag shows, that is).
And for a Commander in Chief who is fast making enemies, or eventual enemies, by viewing those who disagree him and American exceptionalism as not just wrong but wicked and automatically in opposition.
If not such a moron, Orange might have learned from the foreign policy approach of Woodrow Wilson, which was exactly the same.
And for the graduating men and women to have gotten the advice not marry a trophy wife.
This speech rates right up there with his regaling boy scouts about his rich friend having orgies on his yacht.
Considering he has by what every definition is a trophy wife doesnât seem to occur to him. Does he really think sheâd have had anything to do with him if not for his money?
Do you âspose he even realized he was advising the graduating women about marrying a trophy wife as well? Or perhaps he thought all the graduating women were gay? Or perhaps he thought only men went to that school?
If there was ever an anti christ the Christian church was waiting for trump is it. Heâll bring everything our country has built to a stop and his followers will be the reason scientific progress will slow. As an independent neither party has shown me true progress and Iâm worried we will never have an independent president ever again. Trump is just a showman performer selling snake oil to hill billies while Biden canât remember how old was the last girl he sniffled. What the actual fuck happened to us.![]()
Some key words from my (an outsiderâs) perspective, in random order: Abolishment of the fairness doctrine; turning news into entertainment; political gerontocracy; a failing K-12 education system; making higher education increasingly unavailable for the masses; politically appointed judges (esp. supreme court); corporations as people; rampant corruption resulting in oligarchy; decades of propaganda touting the US system as the best, the greatest, and failproof; geopolitical arrogance.
Edit: âŚand as per the suggestion of @SodaAnt: the Citizens United verdict, equating corporate expenditures in federal elections with free speech, First Amendment style.
Iâd argue thatâs probably true of most leaders (including leaders of religious organisations) throughout history.

Since women look to be second class citizens in Orangeâs America, was it really worth acknowledging their existence in such a speech even if he knows they attend the school?
Donât forget Citizens United. Pumping big money into politics was guaranteed to result in what we have now.
I think weâre witnessing the evolution of a new religion in real-time. Christianity in this country is morphing from a religion centered on Jesusâ teachings into one based on a mortal godhead, in this case Donald Trump. It started well before Trumpâs first term, back in the days of the so-called âmoral majorityâ and the more recent explosion of âprosperity gospelâ churches. Some of these conservative groups consider Jesus to be too woke for them.
Updated the posting.
Iâd like to say, thank fuck Iâm not American but the way things are going here in addition to our tendency to follow many things Americans do first, Iâm not sure I should be thanking anyone!
