Wow, you’re doing an awesome job of encouraging participation.
Actually, I was trying get you to stop discouraging it.
Riiiight. So an allegorical book/texts written some time after the alleged events is now “an accurate foretelling of future events”. Mate, it seems you have run so many times round the top paddock naked that you lost your bearings.
If you actually believe what you wrote, you are too far gone for rational discourse.
In addition your meanderings regarding the gospels and the historicity of the jesus figure are just plain wrong. But again you have concocted a narrative that suits you.
Too many on this thread for me to continue with you, as I suspect you will not take the time to reflect on your very precarious position.
LOL, that’s all he has? If I had 400 years to write about old testament prophecies and apply them to a new age guru, I could have done a lot better than the writers of the New Testament in fulfilling prophecy.
And what of all the prophecies that have not come to pass? No honest believing Jew would accept Jesus as a messiah until he fulfilled prophecy…
The Bible says that the Messiah will:
- Build the Third Temple (Ezekiel 37:26-28).
- Gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel (Isaiah 43:5-6).
- Usher in an era of world peace, and end all hatred, oppression, suffering, and disease. As it says: “Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall man learn war anymore.” (Isaiah 2:4)
- Spread universal knowledge of the God of Israel, which will unite humanity as one. As it says: “God will be King over all the world ― on that day, God will be One and His Name will be One” (Zechariah 14:9).
OOPS! The New testament authors seem to have left quite a bit out of their bible. Well that’s what happens when you live in a world of goat farmers and the only way to get information is by word of mouth.
Hmm the New Testament is rather short compared to the Old One. Maybe some of it got lost! Like the horny temptress in India who stole Jesus’ clothes and he had to hide his genitals with a fig leaf while he ran back to his cave!
- the gospel of Pedro
Yeah. Are you looking forward to it though? My magic balm will get you excited for death!
That does. The old saying, “I can feel the electricity in the air!” applies here. I might have short circuited your devices with my universal love. Sorry. Hope there wasn’t any irreparable damages. It was, after all, in the name of love.
Oh! Thank god. What a hunk! Paul Newman.

Great googly moogly, just reading the Amazon reviews gave me a good chuckle. Those reviews are almost as wild as the huntzler 571 banana slicer!
I mean the review stories for this product are at least more believable than whoareyou’s quackery.
Edit: Seriously read the reviews, these reviewers missed their callings in life
Please quote any post of mine, anywhere, ever…saying any author ever met Alexander the Great ever?
So another tedious straw man fallacy…you’re not a very quick learner are you?
Now what objective evidence can you demonstrate for any deity? So far your reticence and evasion on this is pointing to one inescapable inference.
Do you generally look forward to things you are entirely unconcerned with? I tend not to care, though I should like to postpone as long as I can enjoy some quality of life.

That does. The old saying, “I can feel the electricity in the air!” applies here. I might have short circuited your devices with my universal love.
Not my devices, the servers went down, I’d need to see some objective evidence this wasn’t an entirely natural occurrence, but instead involved magic, as I know the former are possible.

Oh! Thank god. What a hunk!
Paul Newman.
Well I have admired his films for years of course, though I imagine many people were physically attracted to him as well. Damn good film incidentally, one of my all time favourites of course is Cool Hand Luke. Never were the words “What we have here, is failure to communicate”, more apropos than this “discussion” with @WhoAreYou.

My favorite part of the add. “Note: Products with electrical plugs are designed for use in the US. Outlets and voltage differ internationally, and this product may require an adapter or converter for use in your destination. Please check compatibility before purchasing.” WTF?
Some cursory education for our visiting apologist: @WhoAreYou pay attention:
Evaluating Information Sources
As you examine each source, it is important to evaluate each source to determine the quality of the information provided within it. Common evaluation criteria include: purpose and intended audience, authority and credibility, accuracy and reliability, currency and timeliness, and objectivity or bias. Each of these criteria will be explained in more detail below.
Purpose and intended audience
What is the purpose of the source? For example:
To provide information (e.g., newspaper articles)
To persuade or advocate (e.g., editorials or opinion pieces)
To entertain (e.g., a viral video)
To sell a product or service (e.g., advertising or marketing materials on a company website)
Who is the intended audience? For example:
Scholars and academic researchers with specialized knowledge
The general public (without specialized knowledge)
Students in high school, college or university (e.g., textbooks for students learning a new subject).
Authority and credibility
Who is the author?
Is it a person?
Is it an organization such as a government agency, nonprofit organization, or a corporation?
What are the qualifications of the author?
What is the author’s occupation, experience, or educational background?
Does the author have any subject matter expertise?
Is the author affiliated with an organization such as a university, government agency, nonprofit organization, or a corporation?
Who is the publisher?
For books, is it a university press or a commercial publisher? These types of publishers use editors in order to ensure a quality publication.
For journals or magazines, can you tell if it is popular or scholarly in nature? See: Peer-reviewed, popular magazine, or journal?
For websites, is it an organizational website, or a personal blog?
Accuracy and reliability
Is the information well researched?
Are there references (e.g., citations, footnotes, or a bibliography) to sources that will provide evidence for the claims made?
If the source includes facts or statistical data, can this information be verified in another source?
If the data was gathered using original research (such as polling or surveys), what was the method of data collection? Has the author disclosed the validity or reliability of the data?
Currency and timeliness
When was the information published?
For books and articles - you should be able to easily verify the publication date.
For websites, try to determine the date the web page was created or updated
Is current information required? If not, then accurate, yet historical, information may still be acceptable.
Objectivity or bias
Does the source contain opinions or facts?
Is the information presented in the source objective (unbiased) or subjective (biased)?
Does the information promote a political, religious, or social agenda?
Is advertising content (usually found in business magazines or newspapers) clearly labelled?
In Summary
Does the source provide you with high-quality information? Is the information useful in answering your questions and meeting your information need?
Now read carefully and slowly, and try and rememebr this important fact, which thus far has escaped you entirely.
I DON’T GIVE A FLYING FUCK IF ALEXANDER THE GREAT WAS A REAL PERSON!
As this false equivalence red herring is simply wasting my time and patience, neither of which are infinite.
Now @WhoAreYou after you have done your basic homework, please demonstrate some objective evidence for any deity, the largest of possible claims, and so far the weakest of possible “evidence” provided, the unsubstantiated and anonymous hearsay of the gospels.
Try and avoid your usual report summary of “must do better.”

I assume you mean scientific theory. It doesn’t. Science isn’t a belief. That’s like saying Mathematics or Astronomy are a belief. Science goes off of already existing empirical evidence and research.
There is faith in math and astronomy.
Gödel’s incompleteness theorems
Dark matter and dark energy are a mystery and that’s 95 percent of the cosmos.
“Scientists are forced to operate mostly in the dark. Literally. They must rely on faith…to believe and defend their conjectures about our mostly invisible, otherworldly cosmos.”

There is faith in math and astronomy.
Another false equivalence fallacy, faith is defined as complete trust or confidence in someone or something, but that is not religious faith, which is defined as strong belief in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual conviction rather than proof.
This dishonest semantics, this tired old apologist’s canard, is too well used for anyone here to fall for the lie. You’re selling snake oil, and you have an empty bag, and this couldn’t be clearer than when you stoop this low.

Dark matter and dark energy are a mystery and that’s 95 percent of the cosmos.
And yet when ill theists run to the facts revealed by medical science, your dishonesty is very edifying, but not at all compelling. Though these things we don’t know still leave apologists plenty of gaps to insert their magic man in, t’was ever thus.

“Scientists are forced to operate mostly in the dark. Literally. They must rely on faith…to believe and defend their conjectures about our mostly invisible, otherworldly cosmos.”
Again this is not the blind faith of superstition, the complete trust or confidence in the methods of science are based on the objective quantifiable evidence of the astronomical successes of those methods. You can dishonestly conflate those all you want, it remains a risible lie, and theists still go see a doctor when they’re ill…and you still have failed to demonstrate one shred of objective evidence for any deity, or that a deity is even possible.
Hey! @WhoAreYou ! You never answered my question asking how you reconcile your Jesus character not fulfilling all the prophecies.
I’m really anxious to hear your response since you asserted that it was near mathematically impossible for the character not to be a god based on meeting (I think you said) eight of them.

near mathematically impossible for the character not to be a god
As Nyarl asked, and I am now reiterating, might @WhoAreYou show his workings on that please?
Mathematically impossible, priceless, and based on not having a contrary explanation for inexplicable claims that there is no objective evidence for…mama mia…
Oh why are atheists so damn ignorant! Even I know the mathmatical proof for god. It’s been around for years. You blind fools just refuse to accept facts.

There is faith in math and astronomy.
What’s your point? Atheists have faith? I’m not seeing it. I don’t think like Christians do. I don’t have faith that a god doesn’t exist. I don’t care, man.
Do you know how many Christians I’ve met that tried to scare me into believing by telling me that I’m going to go to hell if I don’t believe in their god? More than I can count.
It didn’t phase me one bit. So if you think I’m off cowering in a corner somewhere and hoping that a god doesn’t exist, you’re sorely mistaken. I don’t hope that a god doesn’t exist, I’ve concluded that a god(s) do not exist. It’s almost up there with that “feeling” where “you know” something doesn’t exist because you haven’t been given sufficient evidence for it’s existence. There’s nothing that has convinced me otherwise to pick up the belief.
Now I know for a fact that several Christians that I’ve known for years have doubts about their god existing. I’ve even heard a few of them say “I hope he exists and I hope I go to Heaven”. Sounds like they weren’t so sure about their beliefs. I know from what a Baptist pastor has said is that a lot of Christians go through a “crisis of faith” and need to attend church regularly. So…I think the Faith idea that you are hung up on is more of a Christian problem then it is an atheist problem.

There is faith in math and astronomy.
Could you give an example?

There is faith in math…Gödel’s incompleteness theorems
Math is the logic of certainty; as such, there is no room for faith. You don’t understand Godel’s work.
