Fun fact: Heard Island and the McDonald Islands are home to two species of flea. Namely Notiopsylla kerguelensis, which is apparently a parasite of various seabirds, and Parapsyllus magellanicus heardi, about which little is known.
Both fleas were apparently known to Dame Miriam Rothschild, whose work on fleas remains one of the foremost contributions to the study thereof.
I suspect that if a third species of flea is found on the island, and proves to be new to science, itāll end up being named after Trump, to commemorate this latest piece of Orange madness. It would be even more hilarious if said new species followed the precedent set by the moth Neopalpa donaldtrumpi, which the author named thus āin reference to the yellow tufts of hair on the head, and the diminished genitaliaā.
