His reasons aren’t clear, but my guess is he wants a legacy as a law and order president and it greatly appeals to the majority of his base. Ironic because most call themselves “Pro-life”, but that only applies if you’ve not been born yet. He’s the first lame duck president to execute people in130 years and he reinstated federal executions for the first time in 17 years. The push to execute 5 people before he leaves office is also a record for the federal government executing that many people in that short a time span. Maybe it will get him in the Guinness World Book of Records. Not a surprising turn of advents for a man who took out full page ads in 1989 advocating the death penalty for 5 teenagers who were convicted of raping and nearly beating to death a central park jogger. 2 of them were 14, 2 were 15. one was 16, and all were minorities. They have since been exonerated and Trump has never so much as apologized, of course. I admit that there are some clearly guilty, caught red handed monsters that I don’t lose any sleep over when they’ve been executed, but the problem is we get it out right wrong in a disturbing number of cases. Also, it is not fairly applied. We don’t execute the rich and minorities are much more likely to be executed. Not to mention that a woman is less likely to be executed than a man, hee ,hee, hee. Oh right, that’s not funny. Anyway…I don’t think such fallible systems and people should be in the business of executing people. Let’s not forget that in 13 countries being an atheist is an executable offense. Executing people in the U.S. puts us in some pretty bad company where human rights are concerned like China, Russia, and Saudi Arabia. The Abrahamic religions have plenty of back up in their religious text for endorsing the death penalty, if any atheist are for it I’m wondering what your reasoning is?
Psychopathy is defined as a mental (antisocial) disorder in which an individual manifests amoral and antisocial behavior, shows a lack of ability to love or establish meaningful personal relationships, expresses extreme egocentricity, and demonstrates a failure to learn from experience and other behaviors associated with the condition.

The tragic irony here, is of course him handing out pardons to convicted felons who have aided and abetted his grubby little schemes.
The Whitehouse will need to fumagated when he’s left. Though the stench may remain…
