I don’t fear god or death, but there is something I fear to the point it wakes me up at night for some reason. And I know it’s not real because there’s no EVIDENCE about it.
So it’s a fantasy.
This fantasy is that one day, people would just decide to break down all of social order as you know it, that they would release their inhibitions and throw one big, morally deranged PARTY intended to keep you alive and make you suffer in a way they WANT you to suffer.
And you can’t fight to prevent this either, you’re a person, they’re the people, they outnumber you. So you either run away from them or you join them. But running away just means you are delaying the inevitable. Eventually, the people will reach you.
Humanity will walk up to your door, and you can either lock it or let them in.
But there’s no evidence for this, and it’s just as crazy as the existence of dieties, so at least I can sleep a little bit better knowing I have no proof.
