The Catholic Court

The Catholic Church has played a long game pushing their agenda in the USA. Not as long as it took to hone their governing in the first few centuries after the Roman Empire started failing, but a long game in the land of next quarter’s profit.

My observations:

When Kennedy was running the debate was could he govern according to the rule of law, not what the Pope told him to do. He had to vigorously defend himself against this charge.

By joining forces with the rich, who wanted more money & the power to keep it, they now have 6 people on the Supreme Court. Not of one of them had to defend their Catholicism as Kennedy did.

2000 years of working against people, science, and governments have been put to good use in our Republic. If I was not so disgusted, I’ d find them admirable.

If you’re talking about Roe vs. Wade, it doesn’t ban abortion, it makes each state deal with it individually.

It means that it is no longer considered a constitutional right. The majority of women want the right to make decisions about their own body. This same court just said how important it is for “gun rights” to be protected by federal law and not left up to the states when they overturned New York state’s concealed carry law, but the right for women to make their own choices they decide to let each state make their own laws.

I was thinking more in general about the insidious way the church works it’s will on people despite the will of the people. The church supported the feudal system with royalty given absolute power over individual right because this supports their view that humans are subject to the will of god as they see it. IOW god must have wanted a king to rape your daughter and behead your son.

In this case they put aside the teaching that it is easier for a camel to pass thru the eye of a needle for joining forces to promote their belief that humans are special creations. (At least till they can go off to war to defend an oil supply.)

I understand it is all intertwined, but this is the exposed core fibers in my world view.

Yeah, which also means that many Republican States can ban it anytime

They took a “Constitutional” right - a human right and “gave it to the States” individually??? Sounds so benign.

BUT you know full well that the GOD, GUNS Republicans do not believe in equality or in choice or in keeping their nose out of the bedroom.

It is the Theocratic States of America.

Those “States” do not govern for all their citizens’ well-being, with a mind towards “less harm”.

Believe it or not; the US Constitution stipulates that any authority not granted the Federal government is reserved for the States (or the people). The modern Democrat party completely ignores this (as it wouldn’t work in modern life); the Republicans also ignore it, unless they don’t like the legislation; then they scream about it being a violation. The whole thing is a joke.

My response to that would be “road trip”. It’s a free country, if you want to get rid of “it” that badly, you can drive to another state to get it done.

That Americans have no right to privacy is of more a concern then the fact that some will need to drive a while. Leaving the states to protect any right is fraught with issues in our history. Ask any grandson of a slave.

If you don’t think there are priests and pastors out there plotting to make everyone pay for the “sin” of fornication by eliminating a right to contraception. The Fact that this is a Catholic want is informative. These miscreants are inviting your state representative to a meeting at every opportunity. Try getting them to come to the local friendly atheist meeting, even offer them cash, my opinion is they won’t show. .

Of course priests don’t want contraception to be available. It would cut down on their supply of young boys to rape.

They are probably the Cardinal (Base) but cash is number one. The church would fail this week if they could not pay for electrical power that the priests can live in climate control.

Spoken like a man with few responsibilities, plenty of free time, disposable income, and good transportation, none of which applies to many woman seeking an abortion. If I told you you had to take a 19 hour bus ride to get a tattoo because I don’t believe in them you’d explode.

Depends on what kind of tattoo. As for “disposable” income, we have very little of that. I’m allowed to keep $100.00 a month from my disability check to do as I please. I use this fund to pay for any new tattoo work, concert tickets, or dinner out for the 2 of us. It takes me a few months to save for the next batch of “ink”.
My only problem with abortion is when it’s used for birth control.
My truck has over 250,000 miles on it and is 22 years old, not exactly new.

Why are you suggesting that traveling to get an abortion should be no big deal for women when such a “road trip” would be a burden or not even possible for yourself? You seem like a “mind your own business” type person when it comes to yourself. Extend women the same courtesy.

Birth control isn’t 100%

So what if one slips by???

Does anybody have the right to use YOUR body WITHOUT YOUR consent?

This is a quote from Greta Thunberg and kind of says it all. I’ve seen t-shirts with pie charts that have similar sentiments. I have to have one :slightly_smiling_face: .

Have you seen the photos of what Greta Thunberg’s followers did to the last place she gave a speech? They completely trashed the venue. She and her “followers” shouldn’t be looked up to, just like everyone on the planet, they’re all hypocrites.
There’s always adoption.

Might want to double check your sources on that one.
