Perhaps my Jewish guilt is kicking in, but I feel vaguely like a collaborator . . . which has a deep, negative association in most Jewish circles, as we tend to utterly and profoundly hate collaborators.

Wow. There are so many layers of disturbing things about this, more than I can mention. Among others that official information channels in the U.S. now look more like pure propaganda outlets than a way of bringing information out to the public. And that when shit happens (as it eventually will), the apologies address the process of publishing (a staffer erroneously posted it) rather than apologising for the vile content. To me it looks more and more like testing the waters to find out what the public can swallow and what they have to retract. Expect more and viler shit like this.
Also I pointedly notice that the staffer hasn’t been (1) identified or (2) disciplined in any way.
It is just the usual superficial deflection designed to satisfy the True Believers and those not paying attention.
I’m not familiar with Sky News but the presenter made my ears itch. I started to count all the “uh”s and “um”s but ran out of numbers.

In the end it will turn out that there was no “staffer” in the mix. It is just a lame attempt to deflect from the fact that it was Trump doing his normal 1 am shitposting.
As for the source of the video itself, yes that is the same asshole(s) that put together the vid of Trump shit-bombing protesters. AFAIK it isn’t something done at the behest or funding of the White House, but rather just something already in the MAGAsphere that the White House chose to post.
That makes perfect sense. I sometimes fear I’m terminally naive. I don’t know why I believe anything out of his mouth. You’d think I was past that by now.
