Thank you very much for the validation, and I agree with your points. I often feel (and am frequently accused of) like I’m “living in my own little world,” as I seem to very little common ground with the people around me. It makes me feel better that other people can understand my viewpoint.
I’m not sure what RE is, though. Does that mean “religous education?”
Yeah I get that as well, social interactions others find easy, I find take a little more work on my part, but from a young age I realised I could make people laugh, it helps bridge the gap shall we say. As you get older you realise more and more that confidence is just a meaningless trick.
Sorry, in the UK, RE is an acronym for religious education in the school curriculum.
Thank you. I assume religious education in the context of history and philosophy, as opposed to religious indoctrination? The UK seems refreshingly secular when compared to the US.
PragerU is a Christian Nationalist propaganda arm, and its materials do NOT deserve to be labelled “educational”, except perhaps with respect to the venomous and duplicitous nature of Christian Nationalism.
Uh, considering your embrace of the Satanic writhing and contorting that you and @Kevin_Levites are trying to force on your coworkers, I think the choice is obvious…
…or get a Baphomet statue from The Satanic Temple, or other stuff from their webshop[link]. (I have no affiliation with TST, I’m just trying to be helpful )
If the UK curriculum is anything like we have here(*), RE nowadays is about teaching facts about different religions (the Abrahamic religions, hinduism, buddhism) as well as secular worldviews and ethics. No preaching or indoctrination, at least in the public schools. I know of at least one class where even the old greek and norse gods have been mentioned because there was special interest for those mythologies by some students. Back when I was in primary school, the RE studies was all about the teachings of christianity. Even though I thought I believed in the christian god back then, I hated those classes, as I felt most of it was quite cringeworthy. It was possible to get alternative RE classes based on a secular curriculum if your parents applied specifically. These kids were then taken out of class for their separate curriculum.
