Origin Of Deities Cont'd

Okay, let me approach my topic from another angle: Can you name one solid piece of scientific evidence that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that deities, devils, angels, demons, leprechauns, faeries, Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny actually exist?

No.

Many a believer will object to putting all those things you listed together because their deity or denizens of their particular cosmology aren’t considered mythical or imaginary and they resent them being grouped with, e.g., Santa or the Easter Bunny. They have many Special Pleadings that keep those things separate in their mind. Then they will accuse you of “hating” them or “rebelling” against their god, etc etc. So it goes …

Why don’t you go back and “approach (your) topic from the first angle by answering the questions you were asked?

You’re addressing your question to an atheist forum?

Dimethyltryptamine - take some and you will believe

Just for clarification, is that ment to be an argument in support of believing?

that dude is out of his mind, don’t take anything they say serious

I suspected as much, but “F up your ability to think by taking drugs and then you will be able to belive” surely no one could think that is a positive argument towards believing?

I think he is a bit tongue in cheek here. Yes he is saddled with schizophrenia but I think he’s doing as well as anyone can with that diagnosis. Reminds me of Nash in A Beautiful Mind asking people to confirm that they don’t see something he sees so he can be certain when he’s hallucinating. Like everyone else, “sane” or not, I take him seriously as a person, controlling for his particular biases.

DMT is a mind expanding medicine. Along with other psychedelics like Ibogaine, it has a much higher rate of success over Western approaches when treating ailments like addiction. Other psychoactive substances like MDMA are being used for ailments like PTSD and have shown promising results. Either you said the above because you’ve been indoctrinated by popular narratives which outlaw psychoactive substances or you just don’t like me (or something else, I suppose). I would comment on how anti-woke it is to label a person with schizophrenia “out of his mind” - but it doesn’t really bother me. I just find it amusing coming from you.

Thanks for the “vote of confidence.”

Maybe some DMT might improve your ability to spell … You never know … may as well give it a shot.

Not how modal proof works, but I can provide some observations which I find subjectively interesting. Please note observations may be classified as empirical evidence by an examiner (subject) (in this case, all are anecdotal; weakest form of evidence). This does not prove that any of these alleged accounts were accounts with real beings.

Muhammad and his visit by “Gabriel”

Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha) and His Visit by “Māra”

Zoroaster and his meeting with “Ahura Mazda” and “Vohu Manah”

Guru Nanak and his meeting with “Waheguru”

Abraham and his meeting with “Yahweh”

The tribes of Israel and their meeting with “Yahweh” (Mount Sinai)

Aleister Crowley claimed literal encounters with “Aiwass” “Choronzon” and “Rahoor-Khuit”

The Lesser Key of Solomon (Goetia) Practitioners

Michael W. Ford (Luciferian) claimed literal encounters with “Lucifer” and “Azazel”

In the Ramayana, Rama encounters rakshasas (Ravana and his followers) and other malevolent entities.

In the Mahabharata, Arjuna encounters mystical beings during penance and meditation.

These are just a few accounts among many. Remember that it is very possible that all of these accounts were just due to psychosis, neurological imbalances, psychological anthropism of cognitive states, disassociation, lies, accounts between humans that were later hijacked into alleged accounts with spirits, etc…

Or facilitated through the use of psychedelics -

That’s a possibility as well. However, that possibility doesn’t necessarily rule out the possibility of the existence of these alleged beings.

At the risk of sounding science fiction-ee, they may very well be gate ways or portals to a “spirit” realm.

At any rate, the science is showing that our thought patterns (neural activity) assume a unique form when under the influence of psychedelics. One which is quite different from our default network.
