It is not up to me to tell them what to believe or not to believe. If their heart’s in the right place, they’re alright with me.
mr.macabre, go and have a good hard think about yourself.
It’d be easier if you just said what your statement is supposed to mean.
I never suggested it was?
The beliefs often determine the actions, this has little to do with the heart, as this is simply a poor metaphor. The mind may determine how we act, the heart does not.
The problem with you, Sheldon, you’re all heart. (Sarcasm intended.)
mr.macabre, I believe that there is no harm in believing fairies exist if it does no harm to others. In fact, I love a tale of faerie.
Why would you assume meaning in the mindless utterances of a troll?
Ad hominem is not a compelling response. In this instance it seems like no response at all. My heart, like everyone else’s, is a pump made of muscle, compassion is what you’re alluding to I suspect.
@carusmm, does that mean you are here to debate about certain theist behaviors?
Their actions concern me, CyberLN, words, mere words, are meaningless.
Do you not think beliefs can motivate actions?
I disagree, and I can only do so because your words there have a very precise meaning, and words can be deeply pernicious depending on the context in which they are used.
Whatever a religious bigot does can be counteracted by positive action.
Not always of course, but what theists do is directly linked to how their beliefs dictate they should behave. I’m of the opinion it is better to challenge pernicious beliefs before they motivate pernicious actions.
Are you God, Sheldon, you seem to think that you know everything?
Then why are you posting on a a/theist debate forum?
Why must you resort to ad hominem, address what was said, and leave the petty name calling alone.
If your heart’s with God, I’ll let it rest there.
Oh! What a fallacious bunch of bullshit. Sheldon does not have to be God to know everything. He just has to be smarter than you so that you think he knows everything. Also, I fully suspect, he is much better at research than you imagine.
Sheldon believes that he knows what he knows, when, in fact, he knows nothing about the presumption of innocence.
I’m sure he made the presumption innocently.
