Trump hasn’t been heard from in several days now and there’s all kinds of speculation that his health is rapidly deteriorating. I don’t know if that’s true (but I hope it is).
Looking at all the chatter it seems like he probably had a minor stroke that they are trying to cover up. He’s never kept his mouth shut this long in his entire dog-forsaken life.
There was a photo with a friend that was released today which, unlike those released in the past couple of days, is not an old one, but current. It looks kind of staged and people who know more about it than me say it’s possible it’s doctored but that’s inconclusive … the smile isn’t his usual one though; it’s a bit of a uniform tooth-clenched rictus rather than his usually asymmetric hint-of-a-snarl smile. A couple of other shots from great distances look like his mouth is slack / partly open as he’s getting in / out of his limo.
Supposedly all this is consistent with a small stroke which he could be recovering reasonably well from.
This may be a dry run, but it’s gonna happen someday, not that far in the future. It’ll just SEEM like a long time.
I can’t decide if Vance would be as bad as Orange (or worse) because he doesn’t seem like as much of an idiot, or…
If he would be less bad because he doesn’t have the dark charisma and the embarrassingly supine compliance of the current GOP…
At first I thought it was just another one of his diversion tactics, but this seems real. Maybe Biden, who he kept slamming as too old and sick, will out live him after all.

Yeah that’s not your typical cop at all. I wish they were all like that. Real honest, compassionate but no BS either. Man that cop can think on this feet. Hell, he can THINK. What a concept.
Interesting question as to whether Vance would be better or worse for us.
He can sound downright sane, even intelligent and deliberative. As such he’s more dangerous as he lacks the identical extreme clown energy and some might think he’s a more typical President.
Over against that he has, as it’s been described, negative charisma, utterly tone deaf, and is as whiny and petulant as his boss. Also a lot less political experience and probably less loyalty from and appeal to the MAGA base. Also there will be a massive cloak-and-dagger catfight for power between Vance, various MAGA factions, and various oligarchs and tech bros (although Peter Thiel is the mentor and financier behind his rise to power).
I don’t pretend to have any idea if Trump’s death would have any actual value in saving us from the end of democracy beyond the transient surge of schadenfreude it would provide. I tend to lean in the direction that I’d rather he not survive, because a lot of the MAGA coalition consists of a cult of personality around him, and Vance by all accounts HAS no personality.
