Judaism, the religion that escapes criticism

Hey guys, I think we need to buy and study this book and get good talking points regarding Judaism.

Why are you making two threads on the same subject?
(the other thread)

I want people to know about this.

Yeah, but

  1. The other thread will receive more attention.
  2. I’m not going to buy a book just because you want to discuss it.
  3. I’m not going to effectively donate money to a potential crackpot.
  4. I’m not going to read a book just because you don’t want to/are too lazy/are unable to summarise the main talking points to sufficient detail that they can be discussed.
  5. I’m not going to do your homework for you.
  6. You have not given enough data to discuss it. Merely asking people to read it is insufficient.

That being said, if you give us talking points, they will surely be discussed and dissected here, but that will be better done in the other thread.

You’ll find that on most internet fora, cross-posting like this is discouraged if not outright against the rules. I’ve seen posts deleted on some forums that were cross-posted on multiple other sites, even.

The reason for this is that usually when someone does this they are stirring the pot in some fashion, or spamming / proselytizing in some way. In your case you just seem to be obsessed with the topic and eager for engagement but in that case you really have to slow down, be patient and as others have suggested, don’t ask people to research your topic – summarize it for them, get some talking points going.

Finally it’s always a good idea to introduce yourself personally so we know a little bit about you, your background and interests. It helps build trust.

As this subject is being discussed in the Debate room, I’m shutting this string down.

We do not need two of the same.
