Yeah, while I disagree with “clothing” laws in general, an apartment overlooking a school is not a good place to start that battle!
Seems most of the harm of public nudity is simply because it is not “normal” If it happened all the time no one would think twice or object to it, is my feeling.
Most extreme example being at pools/beaches etc where it is perfectly fine and accepted for men to go topless but not women. (I know that there are some countries out there where this is not true, but seems to be true in the majority of the world.)
Looking down on the unemployed? Is your equipment down there without a job? Well besides being a real convenient aiming tool.
Just curious, but any particular reason why you would not appreciate it? Especially someone not wearing clothes in a grocery store? Is there any actual harm done? What about a person’s right to not wear clothes right being impinged upon? Obviously private retail business quite often have the right to turn away anyone they want, especially with an easy solution, but a public tax funded pool? A public beach, or hey even a national park?
Did we just decide that people wearing just their birthday suit is rude, because we are not used to it?
With sex in a grocery store I think valid issues of hygiene, bodily fluids etc can be brought up, plus the act can “block the way” for other people trying to get by.
I still fail to see the valid “harms” in more “skin” being exposed. Especially considering in some parts of the world, women can get harassed/killed if they show any skin at all outside of their home.
The most valid excuse I can think of is “it can be distracting” but would it be if it was the normal? I don’t think so? And is that worth controlling what people are allowed to wear (or lack of?)

However, imagining back to our past and chimp behaviour, only a dominant male got to breed with alpha females. This is done openly. The lesser “ones” don’t get it much (females) and the lesser males are driven off.
So…perhaps, the lesser societal monkeys started doing it in private. This led to closer “familial” ties… just a guess.
Also, perhaps it adds to “sex” for it to be private… some tribes, the women don’t wear coverings, but the breasts aren’t sexualized, like in most societies. Perhaps more nudity, and copulating in public may drive down the “sex drive” - or cause over-sex (the chemical and mental connection, empathy, one has when seeing it) and we’d never get anything else done.

Pretty much, thank the bible for the notion we should be ashamed of being naked, but it is a deeply ingrained idea. Personally at 54 the days when I looked better with my shirt off have passed me by I feel.
This raises a valid point, we don’t baulk when see people indigenous to amazon rain forests going about naked, because that is the norm there perhaps?

The reason I say in this 1 reality in which we exist, and say TWO suppose truths can’t be valid is the following. Can something be melting and freezing in the same time, the answer is NO. Why? Because it contradicts the law of identity, what is the law of identity? A entity is defined by its characteristics. A rock, how do we know a rock is a rock…It’s molecules are made of a specific element and their all clumped together to make a solid material which we identify as a mineral. In essence what is hot goes up in temperature, thus it is IMPOSSIBLE for it to be going down (freezing) because no such phenomenon exist. Man posses a rational faculty and he either thinks of values to determine his choice of life or he does not actively shape , the factor in which he does things ( blanks out and simply believes what is offered to him at his environment). So because man has a rational faculty and before he decides what to do with his life he must decide what he consider as a value or better scrutinize how , decides how he knows what he knows ( philosophy). To have a subconscious philosophy is to merely act on emotion , which is an automatized behavior that you repeatedly indulged in. My point is as human beings we cannot escape the fact that we use philosophy because we have a rational faculty…We either become independent thinkers and judge what is true, Or follow society trend either WAY , ideas are a driving force.

If you want evidence on how someone has a philosophy subconsciously its really in the answers they give when asked, why do you believe in god? why don’t you believe in god? or why do you think the sky blue? why do you think we exist? why do you have the job you? Why do you help people? Many people really cant explain the things they do they’ll say " because such is life or one is suppose too" That is how they just gathered the ideas from their environment, and their subconscious automatized their behavior and feelings by ideas which were never examined ( to be truth or false). Thus they have a subconsious philosophy which was never consciously made.

When you hear music, a peaceful symphony or energetic metal riff. that emotioanl happiness is my defenition of spiritual. This is a great video explaining how certain words have been monopolized by religion but have pratical purpose to man, as an atheist.
