i want to explain Islam: Islam strictly forbids murder, theft, and rape.

Murder carries the death penalty under qisas (retribution).

Rape carries severe punishment if proven, including execution under judicial discretion (tazir).

Theft is punished by hand amputation under strict conditions, but never by death. also in islam promisciouty is a sin and loving money too much is a sin everything has to be balanced

These rules demonstrate that Islam values justice and moral conduct. Like any large community, some individuals may commit sins, but this does not reflect the teachings of Islam or the character of the 2.2 billion Muslims worldwide. Believe it or not, most Muslims do not hate Europeans, Christians, atheists, or anyone else, nor do i although debates about beliefs are common. Extremist groups like ISIS act in ways that are completely contrary to Islam, and their actions have been condemned by almost all Islamic scholars. Muslims are also not “taking over”; in fact, birth rates are declining in many countries. That said, Muslims are allowed to defend themselves.

Misconception:
Taqiyya means hiding faith under danger or persecution to save one’s life, not a license to lie. Qur’an 16:106 allows denial under force if belief stays in the heart. It was used by Muslims facing torture, and emphasized more in Shia history due to persecution. Islam forbids lying except in rare cases (saving life, reconciling people, or war strategy).

another misc
Qur’an 9:5 “Kill the polytheists wherever you find them…”Context: This was revealed after the Quraysh (Meccans) broke a peace treaty and attacked Muslims. It applied to those hostile tribes, not peaceful non-Muslims. Proof: 9;6

and i can go on and on but know that
I’ve noticed there are many questions about God, Islam, Muslims, or even the universe. these topics are actually quite easy to explain, but I cannot reach everyone. I encourage you to explore Islamic channels on YouTube—you can learn a lot of new and valuable information.

I’m guessing the irony of that contradiction is lost on you?

What about spousal rape, and raping children you’ve married, as they are too young to be able to give informed cobsent? As the prophet Muhammed did of course?

Morally repugnant, and how much is done in countries that engage in such barbarically cruel acts, to lift people out of poverty and thus reduce criminality?

I don’t believe in supernatural curses, anymore than in deities.

That’s a subjective view, and I strongly disagree. It shows a willingness to cling to the barbaric and outdated diktat of archaic superstition.

No thank you, there is no objective evidence that any deity exists or is even possible. So unless you could demonstrate that why would I bother.

No True Scotsman fallacy.

What specifically did you want to debate? Only I see no objective evidence for any deity or deities, that’s why I remain disbelieving. So telling what a particular religion says is meaningless to me.

In this context only one, what objective evidence can you demonstrate that any deity or deities exist, or are even possible?

I encourage you to think critically, and as objectively as possible, and to adhere to the principles of logic, if you wish to believe only true things.

First, I do not automatically assume that all Muslim people automatically hate Europeans and/or Americans.

There are radical Muslim people who do horrible things . . . but to claim that these people represent all of Islam is similar claiming that the Ku Klux Klan represents all of Christianity.

Also, I believe (if we run the numbers and statistics) that Cristianity has probably been the justification for much more genocide than Islam. As an example, about 90% of all Native Americans died because Christianity was used as a justification for taking land and resources.

Yet I still have a grudge against Islam that I apply to almost all of organized religion, as I don’t single out Islam as being somehow “worse” than Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, and so forth.

In my country, we hear about the “honor” killings, forced marriage, and the oppression of women that is associated with Islam, yet we are silent on the fact that America has about 6% of the Earth’s population, yet manufactures about 30% of the world’s greenhouse gasses . . . and we use Christianity to defend our greed and short-sightedness.

As an example, Pakistan is having an environmental crisis because glaciers are melting at an alarming rate and causing catastrophic flooding that is displacing tens of thousands of people and spreading disease . . . and this flooding is caused by global warming, yet Pakistan (a Muslim country) contributes less than 1% of the world’s greenhouse gasses.

What is even worse is that my country probably wouldn’t take in any people displaced by this flooding . . . so we destroy other peoples’ homes because we don’t want to use bicycles to commute to work, or replace coal with solar panels and/or geothermal energy, yet we aren’t inclined to help the people that we’ve hurt because of our greed. We often use Christianity to justify this position, and it makes me sick.

So yes, I do have a major problem with Islam . . . but I like to think that I’m not a hypocrite.

I don’t assume that all Muslims are radicalized either – nor am I inclined against them in any way; if I lived in NY City I’d be an enthusiastic Mamdani supporter for example. But I have read that about twice as many of them are fundamentalist than are Christians, which is a pox on both their houses.

Whether that higher level of radicalizaton is something inherent in Islam or just a function that Islamic countries are generally less affluent, I don’t pretend to know. My guess is that it’s a little of both.

I’ve also noticed that Islamic apologists I’ve encountered have less developed and less superficially plausible arguments than Christian apologists, FWIW. That could be because I’m a former Christian and more accustomed to Western thought patterns but I doubt it’s entirely that. There seems to be something more aggressively anti-intellectual and stridently servile about their thinking that renders them even more unaware of their own blind spots than the Christian apologists, if that’s possible.

Define moral conduct.
Define justice.

I can’t take you Muslims seriously. Every other word out of your mouths is a lie. Apparently your fellow Islamists didn’t think so when they flew planes into the world trade center, or how Isis or The Taliban don’t think that killing whole scores of people is murder.

Apparently, my fellow Americans don’t think about how we consume destroys the quality of life for the rest of the world (see my earlier post in this thread).

Sure. Not all Muslims are bad. I just dislike a majority of those who practice the religion and cause a lot of harm to those around them.

I feel the exact same way about Christians (and every other religion).
