I am fed up with religious fanatics

It can be devastating when a person discovers that they have been lied to and bought into a lie for an entire lifetime. And then when they see friends and family turning on them in the name of the loving Jesus Christ… well… it’s heart wrenching, eye opening, and stomach turning. Anger seems to be a reasonable reactions…

(Anger is always about wanting something you can not have.) You really want things to be as you remember them but it is no longer possible. You really want your friends and family to understand but they treat you like the plague. You really want to be understood, but none are willing. It is enough to make anyone scream with rage!

He couldn’t have been all that bright; he got himself nailed to a tree***

***Pedantic point: there were many forms of crucifixion. The word ‘crucify’ comes from the Greek ‘stauros’. which means to impale.

The meaning changed over time.

“The English term cross derives from the Latin word crux ,[9] which classically referred to a tree or any construction of wood used to hang criminals as a form of execution. The term later came to refer specifically to a cross.[10]

Of course you can, if it has core doctrinal teachings that are pernicious.

Just because some adherents of those religions cherry pick the “good” bits, doesn’t mean the religion isn’t pernicious.

And yet throughout the world this is done by Muslims who claim the opposite. I don’t care that the koran, like the bible is contradictory nonsense, that doesn’t excuse what is taught by that religion.

The core idea that humans should try to please a imaginary deity from an archaic superstition, ripping their morality from texts derived from patriarchal bronze and iron age Bedhouin tribes, is never going to end well in the 21st century.

That’s simply not true, christianity is criticised every bit as much as other religions on here, more in fact, as more Christians come here than any other religion.

Of course, why wouldn’t I have a problem with such bigotry? That doesn’t make religion less nonsensical though, nor does it make its core doctrine any less pernicious.

Actions speak louder than words and it is extremely clear that they have no intention of ever acting against these people. I don’t mean that they should go and fight these terrorists. They just never do anything about it, even in their local context. I just had an argument with a muslim woman who said that these people are drawing mohammed and she doesn’t know why they’re being so mean?? Like someone has been killed for a freaking drawing and she’s talking about being mean. This is a distraction technique that Muslims use to distract you from the fact that their religion causes hate and suffering in the free world. They say that it’s not all Muslims and use themselves as a good example. But they literally will never tell other Muslims that killing others over something their religion wants them to do . They will never condemn these murderers/terrorists. Their morality is so low and they are so brainwashed that they can only say they are the religion of peace. Another distraction technique used to manipulate you into thinking that because that particular person does not do that, they are representative of the vile religion. Even them condemning it sounds something like those people are wrong for killing others but like its not because of the religion. It’s because of the person and their mental state. They will literally hear a murderer say ’ in the name of god’ and say its not religious. It’s just being blissfully ignorant and hoping that people do not see what a weak religion they are.

The You Too fallacy being used to say hey other religions do this to state why it is okay is the dumbest thing ever. Terrorism is terrorism whether it is by or against Muslims. We are talking about why it is terrible and why this religions seems to have the highest incidence of religious attacks.
