Of course, because some of my personal life experiences directly contradict some of the crap theists spout. I have had an NDE and I did not see any pearly gates or jesus. I have have faced death and not appealed to any god, and I was a freaking hard core spiritualist who became an atheist.

@Lukang Obviously there is a difference in how many of us atheists perceive this “god” as depicted in the bible, and yours.

For myself, I have read the entire bible, and read EVERYTHING. And since it is described as “god’s word”, I did not count the hits and ignore the misses on bad behavior. You talk about love and good feelings, people like myself ask “why did this god kill millions of people?”. I like to think I do not have my god filter glasses on, and see all aspects.

And just ask simple questions … what kind of individual who has such power needs adulations, recognition, and no such? If you saw this in another person, you would say to yourself “he’s an insecure prick”.
