Not so far. However, I suspect they may be atypical. As indeed I think are most of the atheists on this forum.

In my day to day interactions, theists by and large are NOT challenged.
The ones who come here, are. Their lack of evidence, poor arguments or perception/fantasy thinking becomes sadly obvious and their overall responses/reactions are predictable and (IMO) human nature.

At 17 I was President of the local Young Christian Worker’s. An appointed position. Also an insufferable little prig. Looking back I’m amazed that some people didn’t simply just deck me.
Most Aussies I’ve known are too laid back and civilised to be quick to hit others. If they dislike some one, they just ignore them. I’ve always found indifference a far greater insult than active dislike. I’m working toward that with my ex wife. Not there yet.
@David_Killens That is a big lie from theists, indeed. I understand that atheists simply do not believe in God because of the lack of evidence that proves God’s existence. Nothing complicated there.

Speaking for myself only. I avoid the word ‘prove’ as indeed do scientists. Mathematics uses proofs, science does not
I do not believe in god(s) because of a lack of empirical evidence demonstrating his/her/its/ their existence.
A Skeptic, I avoid truth claims. My basic position is the same as that of science.IE all questions always remain open.
Sorry to be a noodge. A semantic difference perhaps, but significant I think.

Interesting… I don’t believe in any of the supposed evidence as it all seems to fall short of supporting the claim for an existent god. How do I get to disbelieving in a god thing when there isn’t even enough evidence for me to entertain the idea that there might be a god thing?
I spend a whole lot of time on this site disbelieving in supposed evidence and very little time disbelieving in a god thing.

Yeah, same shit each time. Those people almost invariably lack imagination and wit. I guess that’s part of the reason they’re believers. Still gets bloody tedious.
