Darkness ! Where do you reside?

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt no one on here cares for me at all. To be honest, I feel sorry for all of you. Why ? because I know you live in “darkness”. You refuse to accept the “light” that is available to us all. The True and Holy God of the universe, who gave Himself for us all. We are all sinners and you will either die in your sins and be separated from Him for all of eternity, or you will by your own free will accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the “light” and NO MAN shall come unto the Father but through Me”….End times are upon us whether you believe it or not. Open your eyes to the world we live in today. Haters of God, lovers of self. You cannot live in “light” unless you are “born again”……when you accept Christ as Saviour, you are born again (in the Spirit)……the “light” now becomes visible vs. the “darkness” of this world you live in, as the Spirit of God Himself will endwell your very being. Then you will see clearly that there is a Holy God and he loves you more than you could ever know or comprehend.

Okay. That’s it. You’ve been warned both unofficially and officially, suspended, warned against and still you are preaching rather than debating.
Say bye bye now. You are outta here. Permanently.

Oh look, more bollocks, sanctimonious panhandling and blatant projection of your own inadequacies.

You live in the darkness of wilful ignorance. A place the rest of us strive to avoid.

No you don’t. your condescending tone is derision nor sympathy, you feel superior, though it is based on what you have offered entirely unjustified arrogance.

Firstly this is the argumentum ad nauseam you’ve been using from the start, and have been booted for, secondly knowledge can be shared, so whilst you may believe, you don’t appear to know, as you have shared no knowledge at all, only entirely subjective unevidenced beliefs.

As I said elsewhere, you’re preaching, and have no interest in debate, find a pulpit, and an audience that enjoys being preached at, as I don’t care for it at all.

Thank you, I think you gave the poster every chance.

Too bad you’re gone. I was just about to offer a deal. We won’t confuse your patronization for proselytization if you don’t assume misanthropy where only ambivalence exists.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I don’t agree, because I haven’t found evidence for these beliefs, but I respect your right to believe what you do.

Darkness you say?

It’s called depression and mental unwellness is a thing. Depression doesn’t care whether you’re religious or not. Some Christians don’t even believe in mental illness. They just dismiss it as not being right with their god. Depression is very real and it makes for a bad combination with toxic religious beliefs.

Hey! Have you been peeking through my windows when the power goes out around here? Dude, that’s just creepy. In the interest of fair play, though, I should warn you that I own a thermal scope. And, yes, it is mounted and zeroed. Just sayin’….

What makes you say that, Ginger? A rather foolish statement, if you ask me. Dude, we don’t even know you. How can you possibly expect anybody here to care about you? How many of us here do YOU care about? (Pot and kettle much?) Granted, while I personally do not wish any ill will toward you, it doesn’t mean I “care” about you. It just means you have not given me any cause so far to wish any harm upon you. On the other hand, YOU with your “all-loving god” as your beacon of morality, are very likely sitting there typing away while giggling with joy that your god will send us all to that lovely lake of eternal fire that Christians love to flaunt in an effort to frighten the vulnerable into joining your flock of faithful sheep. (Oh, the irony. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: ) Anyway, aside from your whole pulpit preaching practices, your “caring” statement sounded totally lame and ridiculous. Just wanted to point that out real quick.

Oh, and since I just noticed Cyber has seen fit to have you ejected into the Netherworld, I know you will not likely see my reply. Decide to post it anyway for the benefit of those members who read but do not participate. Hope you enjoy eternity with your egotistical narcissistic mass-murdering sky daddy.

Believe it or not, this is one of those rare times I’m not complaining. :innocent: Good call.

I will not respond to this with science or logic. But this does remind me of the Gnostic Texts from the Naghamadi Library. It goes like this:

Seeing that everybody, gods of the world and mankind, says that nothing existed prior to chaos, I, in distinction to them, shall demonstrate that they are all mistaken, because they are not acquainted with the origin of chaos, nor with its root. Here is the demonstration.

How well it suits all men, on the subject of chaos, to say that it is a kind of darkness! But in fact it comes from a shadow, which has been called by the name ‘darkness’. And the shadow comes from a product that has existed since the beginning. It is, moreover, clear that it existed before chaos came into being, and that the latter is posterior to the first product. Let us therefore concern ourselves with the facts of the matter; and furthermore, with the first product, from which chaos was projected. And in this way the truth will be clearly demonstrated.

goodness, I thought that’s only a sentiment my dad believes

It always baffles me how belief and faith act like a mask to represent a monopoly on truth and wisdom, when in actuality it merely points to an inability to process complexity.

that’s because they teach about deities or phenomena that hold monopoly on truth and wisdom. Which is why religious people can reflect that in their actions

When my first wife was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder, she was seen first by a “Christian psychiatrist” (who provided the diagnosis) and then by various unlicensed church counselors whose basic attitude was similar to “pray the gay away” but substituting “crazy” for “gay”. This suited her because she was not interested in actually confronting her issues or taking any sort of responsibility for them. It took me awhile to understand that beneath her psychological problems, she also had substantial character issues. As an attorney (of all people) once correctly observed, “sure she’s crazy, but she’s also a selfish asshole”. He said this because he observed that I was tying myself up in knots trying to be “fair” to her in the resulting divorce and he thought I was a chump. And thanks to him I realized that I was, and was able to change.

This was also my first inkling that the clergy by no means had a monopoly on good sense and wisdom, nor were immune to dumbfuckery.

My mom didn’t believe in mental illness until my sister had to leave the police force after seeing too many people die. She hasn’t been right ever since. Too bad that’s what it took to convince her.

The whole cretinous and pernicious nonsense about disease being the product of “demons” also has its input here.

Why bother learning about the genuine causes of disease, when it’s far easier to blame the patient for not being “righteous” enough?

The utterly scurrilous case of Torrance Cantrell, an 8 year old autistic boy snuffed out during an “exorcism”, being a suitably verminous and pestilential example.

The “pastor” in question should be facing life in prison for child murder.

lol that’s so ironic. A quote on truth coming from a fictional character that Christians can’t even prove ever existed. :joy:

He also substituted the word “light” for “life” in order to fit his argument of the moment so it would contrast with “darkness”. That’s why he put “light” in scare quotes.

The NT authors weren’t above this themselves. Sometimes when quoting OT “prophecies” allegedly about Jesus, they misquoted to make them fit better. Modern apologists excuse it as paraphrasing or “prophetic expansion” or due to quoting the Torah via the Septuagint but IMO there’s too much of it going on to hand-wave away.
