Braneworld Cosmology And Why It's Important

True, the laundry room is quite private.

Am I being ignored here? I told you guy, you only ride this ride once. I’m a microbial speck in an insanely large cosmos with the possibility of other life forms who I will never meet. Will they ever care if I existed? Not to say nothing matters, but to some degree nothing matters. Like Doug Stanhope’s drunk cancer riddled drug addict of a mother said before she died, “ There’s a time to be pretty, and there’s a time to be a pig.” She intentionally OD’d (od’d?) on morphine. Best advice I’ve ever heard.

At the time the genesis of the bible was formed, primitive tribes only knew of their immediate surroundings, and believed that what they saw was everything. As mankind explored and learned, eventually they discovered this planet was round, but still clung to the concept it was the center of everything. Further exploration finally pushed the earth away from that central position, it orbited the Sun. And for awhile the Sun was considered the center of everything. Then the discovery that we are in a galaxy, the Milky Way. Once again our perceived center of everything was pushed out to galactic scale. And the Milky Way was considered the center of everything. Then it was realized that those tiny blotches on telescopes were fellow galaxies, and our central location was finally dispelled. Great Debate (astronomy) - Wikipedia

Even more science has revealed that there are at least a hundred billion stars in our galaxy, and a hundred billion galaxies.

Yet religion maintains that there is a god, and we are special.

For the record, that washing machine was well over legal age, and it did give consent. Furtherm-… :flushed:… Uh, wait… Where… HOW did you get that video?

Huh?.. What was that?.. Hey! Did anybody hear somebody ask a question? I think it almost sounded like that Satan guy, but I’m not sure… (looking around room)… Oh, well… (shrugging shoulders) Nevermind, everybody! Carry on!

Re: @Mark concerning @Cognostic

Dave, all I can say is that if Cog gets in one of his “moods” because Mark told him it is OVER between them, then I think it’s only fair that Mark is responsible for buying all the cookies for the next few weeks. You know how quickly Cog goes through cookies when he gets like that.

Of course not. So much easier to continue blaming others. It’s your style. You have already established that. You need to go back and read again. At no point where you ’ childishly taunted. (Na na na na na ner! My daddy is bigger than your daddy! )

First intelligent thing you have said. Good for you. Beats the hell out of the sniveling drivel blaming bullshit you were spewing before.

I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelled of elderberries!

My father was a gerble not a damn hamster. Okay, small for his size but a gerble just the same.

EDIT MY EDIT: I just can’t go there.

Have you read the latest from the James Webb telescope crowd? Scientists are seeing the new images coming in and some scientists are saying they think they underestimated the size of the universe and most certainly the potential amount of Goldilock’s planets.

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/technology/james-webb-telescope-may-have-found-the-oldest-known-galaxy/ar-AAZOaul

This doesn’t have the side by side images from Hubble, but still it’s just bonkers when you think there is an image of the furthest galaxy away from us, accept the image we are seeing is potentially 13.5 billion years old! There’s potential for life forms to be billions of years older than us!

@SatanicMechanic Yea, I have been following the James Webb for years, including it’s launch, deployment, and not the return on investment.

Earlier this morning I watching this video by Scott Manley, and it really does a good explanation on what is happening with JET and what to expect.

Scott touched on this picture …

But what really rocks my boat is confirmation that such elements were formed very early, thus leading to the odds of early life somewhere.

When I use the term “life” I am not talking about Klingons, but rather very simple small organisms. I can accept that premise but for an advanced civilization, that is much more difficult.

I know, blows my mind. I think about the fact it could be life based on silicone instead of carbon! How insane is that thought, something composed of an entirely different chemical makeup, yet still a life form.

From Life - Wikipedia

Life is a characteristic that distinguishes physical entities that have biological processes, such as signaling and processes.

I go by that definition, and there is no reason to exclude silicone or any other element or molecule.

Well, we all thought so, but we all know how Cog has an infatuation with hidden cameras and all…

Not to imply anyone in particular, but if anyone is interested, I will be hosting a seminar titled:
“Dealing With Hurt Feefees and the Assholes Who Caused Them”.
(Dates and times to be announced pending approval by unnamed entities)

Oo-oo-oo! Me-me-me! Sign me up! My feefees are aching beyond bearing. Not to be too specific, but a certain member here is always hogging all the rejections by other members who find his mannerisms too course, crude, and offensive. And it really HURTS that MY more subtle and highly sophisticated offensiveness is all-too-often overshadowed by such primitive tactics. When will it ever be MY TURN to be rejected? Huh? When?!? I swear, people just don’t appreciate subtle and intelligent insults anymore. It’s depressing. I need a hug.

Hey! I have a list of potential candidates you could cold call if interested? Then again, knowing what I know of your personality, I don’t doubt that you have your own list that is at least as long as mine. We should compare sometime. I wonder how many of the same names appear on our lists? Oh. And just so you know… You are at the top of my list followed by Tin. LOL!

Well what can I say? Genius is Pain.
Although the agenda for the seminar has not been specifically outlined, I know that one topic to be fully addressed is “Coping with the Non-recognition of One’s Undeniable Accomplishments Caused by Assholes of Lesser Capacity”. (Informal gatherings subsequent to official proceedings may offer opportunities for “physical reassurance techniques”.)

Hmmm…certainly food for thought. However, you are assuming some sort of recognition of responsibility on my part, either by me or for me, and I casually reject that notion as unproven, though likely true, to some extent.
I feel honored, as I rarely make the list by persons as inscrutably discriminating as yourself, although I feel I have made almost heroic efforts to qualify for the distinction and prestige that is bestowed by such an inclusion.
