I’ve just typed a response to a post involving BBCode tags (in particular, the italic tag in square brackets), and the tag is no longer being interpreted. It’s simply being rendered verbatim.
This is a test post to illustrate the problem. If the text below no longer appears in bold or italic, the tag interpreter is broken.
[b]Bold[/b]
[i]Italic[/i]
What about asterisks for italics? Like this
Can I still [u]underline[/u] text I wonder?
Ah I don’t need it, I can just highlight text and hit ctrl and U.

The latest application update is the likely cause.
[b]bold[/b] → bold
[u]underline[/u] underline
etc.
Press the “A” icon in the top left to select editor, this will give you the old editor:
Thanks for great sleuthing, @Get_off_my_lawn !
I wondered about the same thing at first, then I saw the new button and wondered what it did. Clicked it and found out => CIFO (and thought everyone else would do the same thing). Once a geek, always a geek. By the way, I like the new footnote tag[1]: Text text^[footnote here].
Or is it really new?
Haven’t seen it before ↩︎
