Atheism and Abortion

what an arrogant load of ignorant nastiness your opinions truly are.
An abortion is the business of the impregnated female and her doctor.
You do know that abortion is condoned in your bible?
Anyone espousing the backward savagery of a religion, like yourself, deserves neither respect or a place to preach your retarded bigotry.

If a man’s wife goes astray and is unfaithful to him 13 so that another man has sexual relations with her, and this is hidden from her husband and her impurity is undetected (since there is no witness against her and she has not been caught in the act), 14 and if feelings of jealousy come over her husband and he suspects his wife and she is impure—or if he is jealous and suspects her even though she is not impure— 15 then he is to take his wife to the priest.
The priest shall bring her and **have her stand before the Lord.**17 Then he shall take some holy water in a clay jar and put some dust from the tabernacle floor into the water. 18 After the priest has had the woman stand before the Lord, he shall loosen her hairand place in her hands the reminder-offering, the grain offering for jealousy, while he himself holds the bitter water that brings a curse. 19 Then the priest shall put the woman under oath and say to her, ā€œIf no other man has had sexual relations with you and you have not gone astray and become impure while married to your husband, may this bitter water that brings a curse not harm you. 20 But if you have gone astray while married to your husband and you have made yourself impure by having sexual relations with a man other than your husbandā€ā€” 21 here the priest is to put the woman under this curseā€”ā€œmay the Lord cause you to become a curse[b] among your people when he makes your womb miscarry and your abdomen swell. 22 May this waterthat brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.ā€

her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse… The priest is to have her stand before the Lord and is to apply this entire law to her.

…get specific…

YOU don’t know this either. OR do you have demonstrable evidence of your claim to belief in a god/s that’s hidden under your bed?

i;ve got a Bible verse for you also… :a fool says there is no GOD"…

i do believe in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ… sounds like your have been doing some Bible reading and Theology research which is great… i don’t belive that you don’t believe in god… you might not believe in the god of whatever denomination or lack there of you were involved in… Everyone on thie Earth has a different idea of what God’ is a life force… an old Man with a white beard on a big Throne… like He is pictured in Catholic art for children… I personally like this… when i was a little girl and was brought to st. marys’ roman catholic church here in Newport ri… a big gothic church… the same one, yes that Jfk marrieed Jackie in in 1953… well… someone told me 'this is the house of God"… i thought … where is God?? the Priest sitting in the big chair was not God… I was so young that i remembered GOD from when I had seen hinm before He was born… he was a Being sitting on a throne… i think everyone will struggle with their belief or lack there of a Being we will call GOD… think st. Theresa of Calcutta and the ā€˜dark night of the soul’ or whatever… that is someone who eventaully becomes a saint but for a while… they question the existence of God… I understand how someone can be an Agnostic… that makes sense… i don’t if there is a God or not… and I will never know…

i meant to say i remembered God from before I was born… by the way 57 years ago today…

Why do you believe that? There are NO recorded contemporary witnesses, no credible examples of that ever happening before and not one word from any contemporary commentator, diarist, military chronicler (who did. at that time chronicle everything). Nothing.

Once again, an assertion born purely from your own opinion and what others have told you. And incorrect.

And once again, I do not hold such beliefs, especially a universe creating ā€œlife forceā€. I have not been convinced of a god.

YET you chose to believe or another word, are convinced one(???) exists. Based on what? Presuppositions. You presuppose a ā€œcreatorā€, ā€œgod/devilā€, ā€œheaven/hellā€, ā€œsinā€, ā€œsoulā€, etc. These presumed ā€œtruthsā€ (since not being convinced makes a person a liar in your worldview), were taught to you VIA your family, country, culture and community.

If you had been born in the Middle East or India, your ā€œpresuppositionsā€ would be different.

What’s with the incorrect use of capital letters? It’s bizarre how many theists do this, is it a subliminal code of some sort?

Atheism isn’t a claim there is no deity, it’s the lack or absence of belief in any deity or deities.

So whilst an atheist can make such a claim, it’s a lie to imply this is a claim all or even most atheists make. So ironically you seem to be lying, in a post where you accuse atheists of being liars, without evidence, using sophistry.

Your punctuation and grammar, is as baffling as it is tedious to read?

Well it would say that wouldn’t it. Why should I care?

Can you demonstrate any objective evidence for any deity?

If not then why would you believe in an extant deity?

I don’t believe you don’t believe it. However I also don’t care, as it has no relevance to the validity of your belief.

Nope, atheists and agnostics would not by definitions believe any such ideas; and when theists offer antiquated diktat purported to be the infallible word of those deities, isn’t it odd how it always reflects the ignorance, prejudice and fallibility of the humans who created those deities, as if the religious texts are entirely human in origin.

I’d bet a weeks salary that you are misinterpreting the definitions of atheism and agnosticism, in the erroneous belief they are mutually exclusive.

I’m an atheist, as I don’t believe claims or beliefs that are not supported by any or insufficient objective evidence. I am agnostic about all unfalsifiable claims, and I withhold belief from them, as believing all unfalsifiable claims is absurdly irrational, and believing some or one is obviously closed minded.

Agnosticism is the belief that nothing is known or can be known about the nature or existence of any deity. Atheism is the lack or absence of belief in any deity or deities.

You can be both an agnostic and an atheist. As of course you can be an agnostic and a theist, though why anyone would believe something they admit they can know nothing about is baffling.

I don’t believe you sorry.

You will never be challenged if you assume everyone who disagrees with you is a liar.

:rofl:The opposite of Pascal’s wager? The only thing that makes less sense than to pretend you believe when you don’t, is to pretend that don’t believe when you do.

I think people that use the pseudoname ā€˜susan h’ are actually microfallic slug creatures that exist in self replicating sewer slime ejaculate and have managed to worm their way into underground cables with the goal of infecting internet cable systems with utter nonsense. When they take human form and emerge into the light of day, they are often confused with Karens.

Fuck you. You don’t speak for me EVER! You judgmental piece of dog shit.

I don’t worship or believe in any god nor do I practice any religion. That is what I believe. And I believe that your God or Allah does not exist. That is compared to how you strongly believe that there is a god and the fucked up beliefs that come with Christian pantheon.

If I was on staff. I’d ban you. I wouldn’t want to hear your bullshit on here. All of you Christians are predictable. Different faces, same words, same judgmental bullshit.

You don’t have to.
You can hang in the hub. Theists aren’t permitted there.

If it weren’t for the ridiculous Biblical dogma (not teaching birth control and not talking about sex) there wouldn’t be very many unwanted pregnancies to start with. It’s a sign of how ignorant Christianity is!

Pretty interesting claim. Care to share in empirical evidence on which it is based ?
Ok, I’m being mean. It’s just meant as a caution about making sweeping and unfounded claims. As far as I can tell, there is no way you could reasonably reach that conclusion. What would you do? Ask every pregnant female? Assuming of course you could identify them and if they didn’t just hit you for being an invasive twat, would then tell you the truth

Part two; Worth considering that the sexual rules we see rightly as dogmatic and absurd have a dead serious reason. It’s about power and the sexual guilt from which the church derives power.

My favourite Christian, Emeritus Bishop John Spong on hell, power an guilt.

There are heaps of longer lectures by him on YouTube.

There is some evidence that access to effective birth control reduces abortions. However it was based geography/political access and not religion …
By far, the steepest decline in abortion rates occurred in Eastern Europe, where use of effective contraceptives increased dramatically; the abortion rate also declined significantly in the developing subregion of Central Asia. Both subregions are made up of former Soviet Bloc states where the availability of modern contraceptives increased sharply after political independence—exemplifying how abortion goes down when use of effective contraceptives goes up.

There is a significant link between unintended pregnancy and abortion (ahhh  now I’m being mean)… Latin America has the highest. Fairly religious lot…
