Do Christians believe that Jesus is going to come back to Earth and create a war to kill all the non believers and have them go to hell for eternal punishment?
Wouldn’t this end up being much worse than the Holocaust and how can the believers still worship Jesus, if Jesus would be worse than Hitler?
It has occurred to me that the only crime actually worthy of eternal he’ll would be implementing and using hell in the first place.
Well, Christians are humans…and humans love a good genocide… They made it an art form in the 20th century.
Humans also just love a good mythology…
I can’t explain why an all powerful, loving god/creator would be as cruel as the one depicted in the Bible and it’s one of the reasons I’m an atheist and think it’s a man made myth. You’d really have to ask a Christian. No answer I’ve ever received made any sense. They say god works in mysterious ways and other such nonsense, as if anyone could have a good reason for genocide or punishing the distant relatives of someone who offended you.
The Holocaust was the singling out of the people of Jewish faith or lineage, rounding them up, taking their possessions, their homes, their livelihoods, locking them up, mass murdering millions of them.
Much of which is currently happening to Palestinians as most of the world just sits by and does nothing.
But many Christians believe their beloved saviour is going to come back and round up and murder all the non Christians, (around 7 billion people) and then after death, somehow keep torturing them for all eternity. And these Christians are looking forward to it, and loving and praising Jesus for it, Well, in the hopes. If it actually happened, presumably they would be standing by, cheering him on, or joining in on the rounding up and killing of the non Christians.
The Bible is already full of [fictional] genocides perpetrated by God/Jesus that the believers don’t have a problem with.
