Are all religions, just global cults?

Personally, I tend to believe that it was not a world flood, it was just a tsunami, and people thought that it was global. I had this idea from a scholar I have listened to, his name is called Adnan Ibrahim.

why do i seem a decent block? what made you say that ?

Pardon? I was referring to you.

Why do you continue to insist on quoting the Quran? I’ve already said I’m unable to accept the Quran or any other writings as divinely inspired. (what with being an atheist and all)

When I read the Quran at university, the one thing which stood out was how much of it seemed to me to have been lifted from the Torah. I discovered that this is in no way an original idea.
Doesn’t really matter to me you understand. This an observation not a judgment.

Oh,sorry. ‘Bloke’ is Australian slang for ‘man’ or ‘male person’

A reasonable claim, but not something for which there is any credible evidence as far as I’m aware.

That parts of a mythology may have some basis in fact does not necessarily mean all or most of the mythology is also true. That an esteemed Islamic scholar has claimed a thing to be true does not make it so. A claim must stand on its own merits, regardless of who makes the claim.

because my opinion is related to it, that was the only time that I quote d unnecessarily, before that, i did because i was asked or it was a part of the answer.

yeah, I know, I didn’t mean that either. you said that it was a world flood, but it could be just a tsunami.

Look, this forum helped me a lot, to understand a lot of things, and I understand, what it is you’re talking about, I do not have any empirical evidence, and do not think it will ever be such a thing. because of a lot of reasons. I would have been an atheist if I didn’t read and understand the Quran, when I sit with my self and think about how you’re feeling I tend toward being atheist, but when I see from other angles, I feel extreamly conviced, I’m not trying to be sympathetic to gain your empathy, i’m just realy saying what I feel. why people doesn’t give a shot to quran ? and try to realy understand stuff. probably they don’t care that much about the truth. they want it ready from someone ? probably even if they get it, they would be too stupid (please i’m not calling anybody stupid) to understand it, because they have not been reading enough.

Forgive me for this quote again. i know it means nothing to you. in this verse not even Ibrahim was convinced 100%, he even asked for empirical evidence.

And ˹remember˺ when Abraham said, “My Lord! Show me how you give life to the dead.” Allah responded, “Do you not believe?” Abraham replied, “Yes I do, but just so my heart can be reassured.” Allah said, “Then bring four birds, train them to come to you, ˹then cut them into pieces,˺ and scatter them on different hilltops. Then call them back, they will fly to you in haste. And ˹so you will˺ know that Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.” Quran Chapter 2 verse 260

I’m just offering what i know. you decide what you want to do with it.

I think Nogba was objecting to the word “decent” and not “bloke.” After all, he has been

Objecting ? where did i say that ? can’t a question been understood just like it is ?

You see what I mean. The twat can not even understand the English he writes. Why in the world would you expect him to be able to read and respond coherently?

why are you telling people why they’re responding? and you’re responding just to insult?

Before or after god wanted him to kill his son as a sacrifice?

He didn’t kill his son, go read why he told him to do that.

That isn’t an answer.

I did? I don’t think so. I think I said many cultures have flood myths. As as far as I’m aware there is no evidence which demonstrates there has been a global flood in human history

With respect, you have no idea of how I’m feeling about anything. I don’t say this to criticise you. Rather to point out that in my society at least, it’s rare for a person to be able to accurately describe how they are actually feeling at any given moment… It’s nota lot easier to be able to tell what another is feeling.

Your claim to understand the Quran is a very patronising thing to say, seeing as I’ve already said I’ve read the Quran. You seem to be implying that a kafir could not possibly understand the Quran. AND that your understanding is the right one, ignoring the fact that there are many Islamic sects all making the same claims. Some go so far as to claim that those who disagree with their understanding are not true Muslims, demonstrating it is they who do not understand the Quran.

It’s actually very easy to be a Muslim because it’s about belief, not actions… Not so easy to be a good Muslim. An extremist is not necessarily not a true Muslim. Far more likely to simply be a bad one

How often do you say “Bismilah—” and actually mean it?

—and there you go quoting the Quran again. Why do you keep doing that? Are you incapable of thinking for yourself

I believe you are sincere, but keep putting your foot into your mouth by insisting on quoting a source which has no credibility with me or many others here.

The basis of religious beliefs, Jewish, Christian Muslim or other, is faith. Not reason and not facts. The definition of faith is "belief without seeing ". That makes religious beliefs superstitions.

)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))0)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

From The Gospels: John 20:29: " Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." (King James version.

The Quran also speaks of Aisha, a 6 year old child who he married, and then raped when she as 9 years old.

Do you still believe Mohammed to be a prime example of a man, even though he had for thing raping children?

There are a great many reasons as to why people choose not to follow the Quran, other than there’s no objective evidence that can be demonstrated that the Quran is anything other than a book written by a mad man.

The Quran, condones sex slavery.

[Quran (33:50) - “O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those (slaves) whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee” This is one of several personal-sounding verses “from Allah” narrated by Muhammad - in this case allowing a virtually unlimited supply of sex partners. Other Muslims are restricted to four wives, but they may also have sex with any number of slaves, following the example of their prophet.

There are many verses like those, there is nothing moral or great about owning another person. Rape is NEVER acceptable, under any circumstances, yet the Quran says it’s okay. This is sickening.

[Quran (3:151) - “Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority”.

So because someone doesn’t believe in something, that has never been proven true, you should terrorise them, force them through fear into believing nonsense too?

There is no justification for this whatsoever.

This verse is what’s responsible for my little sister being terrified at the Arianna Grande concert in Manchester, she’s absolutely terrified of going near any public concert because of that incident.

[Quran (4:11) - (Inheritance) “The male shall have the equal of the portion of two females” In Islam, sexism is mathematically established.

It’s disgusting how women are told be treated in the Quran, a woman is equal to a man, she cannot and should not be owned, she should be free to love and marry whoever she wants, no person has the right to force marriage or sexual intercourse on anyone. Yet the Quran says, a woman is worth less than half a man, and every woman must belong to some man. :face_vomiting:

[Quran (7:80-84) - “…For ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds… And we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone)”

This verse has lead to murder of homosexuals via stoning.

I have many Gay friends, they are amongst the nicest and most caring friends I could ever have, and I treasure them deeply, if anyone tried to harm them for the way they were born, my reaction would be an eye for an eye, there is nothing immoral about love between two consenting adults, irrationally killing another person, because of a book that has never been proven true, is an immorality.

Honestly… I could go on and on, pointing out the disgusting verses written in that foul book, but I feel my point has be adequately made, so I’ll finish with a verse from Sir Winston Churchill.

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries, improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.” - Winston Churchill

Sentences begin with capital letters. Why would you use the word “why” twice in the same sentence? Did you mean; “Why are you asking people their reasons for responding to my idiotic posts?”

When you begin a new sentence, it is also capitalized.

I am responding to insult? Really? I must have missed something. I don’t recall feeling insulted? Were you trying to insult me? Oh how cute… Sorry. I completely missed it. Please try again.

Indeed. I recently discovered that the Islamic slave trade existed for centuries before Europeans and Americans used slaves on their sugar and cotton plantations. The Islamic slave trade always surpassed the European trade. Islamic slavery continued into the 20th century. f

Europeans made a misinterpreted translation of a passage in the old testament to justify slavery.

Muslims were far more inclusive. It was forbidden to make a Muslim a slave. BUT Kafirs (non believers) of all races were fair game.

Did you run across the fact that they were enslaving the Americans from the new colonies and that the American government was blackmailed into paying them money to prevent American ships from being attacked in the Mediterranean?

How about this —
" Between 1530 and 1780, these Muslim pirates captured more than one million ChristianEuropeans, (http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/british/empire_seapower/white_slaves_01.shtml), causing the inhabitants of many coastal areas of Europe to flee in fear."

March 1785. The Barbary states preyed upon American shipping, enslaving both crews and passengers, America’s two foremost envoys were informed that “it was written in the Koran, that all Nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon whoever they could find and to make Slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.”

There is a whole lot of Muslim history in America that has never made it into our history books.

No, but I’m not surprised.

So I’m discovering. With luck ,I will continue learning until I die.

This isn’t even remotely true. And as I have reasoned many times before, a deity possessing limitless knowledge and power would logically be more culpable for it’s actions, not as theists continually assert be beyond reproach simply by virtue of being god.

However these are all hypothetical arguments, as no one can demonstrate any objective evidence for any deity anyway.

Including you, despite being asked repeatedly.
