The person who filed this suit that SCOTUS has inexplicably agreed to even entertain is the same asshole who was a county clerk in Kentucky some years back and refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples even though IIRC it was allowed in the state at that time. They lost decisively, lost their job, were fined, maybe even jailed for a time, I don’t recall for sure but I know that she also lost a civil suit from a gay couple that she denied licenses to.
But this inbred hillbilly didn’t learn squat from the experience and now they are trying to make a comeback or at least have the last word.
Correct, she was indeed a court clerk who refused to do her job on the grounds of religious bigotry, and she was jailed as well.
Just why the fuck she cares I shall never understand, I guess some people are only happy when they are attacking others in some way.
No deity has ever made its existence known to me, so I can’t comment on what hypothetical deities want, but if such a deity did so, and expressed the same bigotry she is peddling, I’d be forced to tell it to fuck right off.

It helps me to see Christian fundamentalism as a formalized conformity fetish that extends itself outside the in-group in order to protect itself from collective punishment because of them being insufficiently “salt of the earth” to prevent societal corruption – or by being seen as “condoning sin”.
Individuals within that system may perceive that, e.g., gay people getting married offends or disgusts them or is appropriating something that belongs only to heterosexuals by divine decree, but their core problem more generically IMO is that those people don’t conform to their way of life, and that inherently subtracts from them and/or threatens them.
In eras past, they might have been concerned with different issues like dancing, partying, wearing too-short skirts per the standards of that particular time, even listening to the radio or going to movies when those things were still new and unexploited by evangelists. Note well: most of the things they have historically objected to involve having fun, lol.
You or I could disagree with someone’s life choices, even think them harmful, yet still shrug and “live and let live” but by “letting live” they are “condoning” behavior that their deity disapproves of and will punish them for said “condoning”.
Very warped, I know, but after deconverting I needed to understand the reason for all the constant pearl-clutching I witnessed – the mildest expletive, the tiniest social lapse, even most forms of humor produced such over-reaction all the time, and never mind major divergence from what they considered societal norms. This is the best explanation I could come up with based on my past inside the movement.

In part it’s a gigantic envy snit.
One of the ironies and hypocrisies endemic to this crowd, is their burning desire to see to it that those outside the pale suffer hideous consequences for even the most trivial failure to conform to their venomous strictures, but seek to evade consequences for their own far worse vices and outright criminality, through the “Jeebus will forgive me” schtick.
Quite frankly, in some respects it’s a pity that their fantasy cartoon lava Auschwitz isn’t real, because they’re the most deserving of the retribution in question.

is true, then one has to ask a lot of questions about why Trump is so eager to cosy up to this woman. This video openly declares that she was not merely Epstein’s fixer and procuress, but a co-offender alongside him and the other rich paedophiles whom Epstein provided underage girls for. Is she receiving the attention from Trump that she is, because she took part in at least one rape alongside him?
