You misunderstand. He doesnât want to get involved in any foreign wars with our enemies. Wars with our allies are just fineâŚ
Heâs already utilizing the SCOTUS ruling making him untouchable.
From Peter Baker of The NY Times:
âNot satisfied just to eliminate diversity initiatives, he ordered government workers to snitch on anyone suspected of not going along. He fired at least a dozen inspectors general who monitored departments for corruption and abuse, ignoring the law that requires him to give Congress 30 daysâ notice and provide specific reasons.â
Andrew Johnson was impeached for less. I donât see that happening here, however, unless the Demos can turn things around in 2026 and retake Congress.
Just thinkâwe wouldnât be in this mess if, back in 2021, guys like McConnell and Graham had the guts to say âenough is enough!â and urge their fellow republicans to convict Trump in his second impeachment trial.
The voice of the bigoted, misogynistic, name calling, scapegoating, minority attacking, fiction creating, populist nonsense spewing leader has been very seductive throughout history, in my observation.
I suppose there may be historical examples of silence among regimes under this type of leader not ending in the creation of misery for a lot of people, but canât think of any at the moment.
Iâve seen the results of a very similar way of thinking in Bosnia in the mid 90s, very shortly after the fact.
More misery created by silence and non involvement in the face to genuinely hideous leadership.
It would seem that the issue that got him elected, the high cost of living, is no longer a priority now that he no longer needs the votes that promising to fix it got him.
He just flat out lied to everyoneâs face. Not that the people who didnât vote for him are surprised to see. How long will it take for the people who voted for him realize it?
Not until itâs far too late, IMHO.
At this point, those individuals can no longer be trusted to acknowledge what he and his cronies are, I think.
(And on the rare occasion their conscience screams at them loudly enough and they do sort of recognize it, a heavy dose of rationalization immediately follows.)
Oh no! Iâm shocked! Shocked, I tell you!
Anyway, bowel movements seem to be back at normal after a couple of days of constipation.
Heâs been lying all his life. There were over 30,000 documented lies in his first term, so no one with more than one functioning brain cell should be surprised that he lied again during the campaign. In fact, given his record, one should assume that anything he says is a lie unless proven otherwise.
The people who voted for him will never realize nearly every word out of his mouth is a lie. Theyâre too conditioned by Fox âNewsâ and other media to believe everything he says, no matter how outlandish, ridiculous, or stupid. YouTube is full of interviews of MAGAts on the street who believe his crap, and theyâre both funny and sad to watch. How did we, as an advanced, technological nation, fall so low? I attribute it to the lowering standards of education and the rise of unfettered social media where misinformation and hate speech are regarded as the new normal.
So how to fix this mess? Start by teaching critical thinking skills in grade schools so that the next generations donât grow up willfully ignorant. Teach them how to think, not what to think.
That will definitely not be possible in the short run, i.e. the next four years.
I was thinking long term. Nothing is going to help in the next four yearsâwe just have to tie ourselves to the mast and ride out the storm.
Theyâre probably going with Kelly Ann Conwayâs âalternative facts.â
MAGAt dolts are discovering that the leopards are coming and face is back on the menu.
What a great line! Iâm shamelessly stealing it!
From the NYT:
âThe online system through which state Medicaid departments receive federal funding has stopped working, some state officials said, as a White House order pausing federal grants and loans created uncertainty for schools, hospitals and others.â
