Folk only roll with the crucifix up in the Kansas legislature, yo!

This could be Orange’s first chance to spout something from his burger hole that runs counter to the Constitution on the subject, and demonstrates his support for Xtian nationalism.

I admit I could be behind the curve, and that’s happened already.

Will this be used as a pretext for the Tangerine Harkkonen to order his Dirlewanger hordes to unleash an American Kristallnacht?

He set the blueprint for this in his speech and rhetoric before the Jan 6th insurrection he instigated, when he showed that he was prepared to violate his oath of office, cared nothing for it, the constitution, or ultimately for democracy, only for popular support, which his ego craves above all things, the mark of a narcissist, who centres all in self. The illegal last grasp for power, was just his ego’s inability to accept that he wasn’t liked enough for a second term.

Having done it once, and got away with it, which he now surely views as some sort of warped vindication, like Hitler being given a lenient sentence, that he later framed in the context of ā€œmein kampfā€. What won’t he do now he has power again?

I keep hoping I am wrong, that it won’t be as bad as it appears, but I fear many people are sleepwalking into totalitarianism in the US. Aligning himself with the likes of Putin is just the start, and says it all really. Ultimately can anyone say what Trump stands for, what are his core values, what limit does he place on his own ambition, that reflect some moral and ethical misgivings of the dangers of absolute power, if any?

The enactment of laws promoting xtianity and tearing down the separation between religion and government are cropping up across the U.S. Permission to eschew civility, largesse, the rule of law, equipoise, and inclusion has been granted and is quite popular. The guardrails that kept the selfish, bigoted imbeciles at bay are evaporating. The Constitution is in the waste bin. Like in other fascist regimes, people who voice dissent are being arrested.
Trump is bad enough, but the addition of musk into the mix has resulted in an exponential increase in horrific developments.
Those who do not want this to happen will either fold and be steam-rolled or rise up in civil war. And as there seems to be no leadership for the latter, it will likely be the former.

That, more than anything else, should have prevented him from ever holding public office again. Section 3 of the 14th Amendment contains language that is quite clear and specific. The Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Trump was indeed an insurrectionist, but the U.S. Supreme Court brushed aside the Colorado court’s iron-clad decision and let Trump run for office again.

If cowards like McConnell and Graham would have just said ā€œEnough is enough, this guy has to goā€ after January 6th and urged their fellow senators to vote to convict in Trump’s second impeachment trial we’d be rid of the guy forever. But no, they decided that party and power were more important than the general welfare of the country and voted to let the bastard off the hook.

Trump’s Franz von Papen…history is not kind to those who enable despots, and rightly so.

I don’t know if anyone ever watched these podcasts, but here is one about Mitch McConnell, very edifying…

At least that doesn’t exclude satanists.

Had to chuckle when one state abandoned their school chaplains idea as soon as the Church of Satan threw in.

Today, Trump announced the new 6th generation fighter jet for the USA.

Find out #1: It will be called F-47

Find out #2: During the announcement in the White House, Hegseth talked to Trump like he was personally responsible for developing the project;

Mr. President, because of your leadership, your clarity, America is going to have generations in the future of air dominance.

:face_vomiting:

(Quote not in the article, but transcribed by me from a video of the announcement. Cannot link to the video due to geofencing.)

Unfortunately for my trust in the integrity and non-sycophancy of top ā€œleadershipā€ in the U.S., I did find a piece with the quote. Along with other piffle.

Holy shit.

From the article:

The Defense Secretary praised Trump for pushing the F-47 program forward, saying the Biden administration ā€œpaused this program and were prepared to potentially scrap it.ā€

ā€œUnder the previous administration, we looked like fools. Not anymore,ā€ Hegseth added. ā€œPresident Trump has reestablished American leadership. The F-47 is part of it.ā€

Such programs are usually paused, halted, or scrapped for a reason.

Agreed.

What other defense programs will the good idea fairy now be green lighting? How much more craven and invertebrate can the Defense Secretary show himself to be around Don the Con?

Anything Biden stopped or didn’t approve of?

How do you think Boeing greased the skids to get the contract?

Wait, they handed the contract to Boeing … ???

Possibly the shittiest aerospace company on the planet?

A company that can’t even be trusted to fasten the correct number of bolts into a door frame?

Still, every cloud has a silver lining … at least the billions in question aren’t going into the Muskrat’s pockets … yet …

IMO, the quality started to go into the shitter when they started using cheaper, non-union labor.

But I suppose they needed the cost savings that resulted in so they could give 62 million dollar parting gifts to the CEO’s they fire.

The most notable one I’m aware of is his delusional ā€œIron Domeā€ over the entire (presumably continental) US to render us invulnerable to missile attacks.

It is just Ronald Ray-Gun’s ā€œStar Warsā€ project revived, doubtless with similar results. As I understand the technical issues, there is no way to come even close to such an impenetrable defense system – particularly since Russia can deliver large numbers of warheads over a large region from a single missile, including decoys, coming in at hypersonic speed, while overwhelming us with other missles heading into the area that contain nothing BUT decoys. Stopping 100% of that would be like shooting into the sun at pebbles, and there’s no way to tell the decoys from the real ones.
