What is a Libertarian?
I have never understood such labels: liberal, conservative, etc., et al. Still don’t. Won’t look them up either. Usually, WWW definitions are not.
Me, I am Human; thus, a Humanist. Otherwise, the only -ist I am is a scientist. Retired.
I suspect most of us here have arrived at that. It’s all that matters in the end. That said in the end there are political persuasions that are anti-human (e.g., MAGA, fascists, the far-right authoritarian types in general), others that are well meaning but still fail to affirm humanity in others, and then varying degrees of pro-human / empathetic / inclusive / respectful.
Ultimately it’s helpful to be science-literate because it grounds you in reality instead of in various fantasy realms. Here in the US, we seem to have forgotten what reality is and how it’s legitimately understood. It leads to all sorts of problems.
I’ll be happy to add my own.

Anyone know when this happened? I’m not finding any main stream reporting of it. Pretty scary if all the media out lets are too cowed or other wise unwilling to say anything. All of it fills more and more like a state run propaganda machine.
It happened some time ago. Google BBC G7 walkout. The report is there when Trudeau was PM of Canada.
This is actually an event that happened a few days ago.
There was a ministerial G7 meeting in Paris late last month No walkout was reported. The French have the revolving presidency and thus hosting rights. Canada was not excluded from any discussions.
Although the US media is ‘cleansing’ any embarassments to the trump regime the French are certainly not.
I’ve checked this thru Snopes and online searches, it refers to the 2025 meeting when Trudeau was premier.

The G20 is on in Miami soon, of course the drumpf has invited the man who has the videos, Vlad the Blackmailer. It maybe that Canada will be frozen there.
These tabloid-y sensationally framed videos are usually just clickbait or outrage generators favoring heat over light. Occasionally they are even LLM generated content.
Currently I tend to favor independent journos who use substack or ghost or similar platforms and who have skin in the game of fighting for democracy in the US. Most have free subscription levels and I subscribe to a few for full content. My favorite is The American Prospect which is free to all but accepts donations. The closest I get to this kind of content is a subscription to Midas Touch Network which is a little too oriented to maximizing eyeball counts for my taste but has a good and growing independent reporting ecosystem.
CBS (now widely called “See BS” under Bari Weiss) and other “legacy” media have all bent the knee to varying degrees and all engage in some amount of “sane washing”, etc. It’s increasingly hard to separate wheat from chaff.

Beardo is correct - the shooter was running at a fair speed. This makes him a much more challenging target even in a small room.
Human beings also already have an intense, instinctual resistance to killing another human, especially at close ranges. Add in the element of surprise and the forebrain shuts down and the midbrain takes over, which often refuses to initiate deadly force.
And if Green Checkmark Person has never killed before then this adds another layer of resistance to the act, no matter how much their gun should obey.
As far as all the other stuff he talks about, I’d be surprised if the investigation doesn’t provide answers. Patience is a virtue.

I’m surprised they managed to get a “clean shot” at all. In hindsight a trip or tackle might have been better but I guess they weren’t in the right spot for it; happened so fast.
The more you watch the video, it seems to me that Green Checkmark Person misses the intruder when they fire, but hits the center person lined up against the wall watching the magnetometer come down.

Ordinarily yes, but the objective of the feds isn’t a dispassionate, impartial investigation, it is the production of a politically convenient narrative. And thanks to Patel and his ilk, law enforcement is more of a clown show designed to lick Trump’s balls than anything else. So it resorts to, “well, sometimes bullets just disappear / we’re still looking into it” while the various factions try to settle on a story the public will swallow.
The FDA conducted extensive research that showed the Covid and shingles vaccines are safe. Naturally, the Trump regime is suppressing the research and preventing its publication. 
President Trump is taking toxic materials from the White House construction and dumping it onto a public golf course that he wants to take over.
A well worn Orange tactic.
My wife is from Scotland. A member of her family lived adjacent to Cheeto’s golf course in Aberdeenshire, which he decided to expand. The family member’s land and home was in the way.
Orange’s cronies started a “construction project” then dug up and split open the water main going to the family’s property, preventing them from getting water. Then they delayed and kept reapplying for permit extension while the inevitable court case went through the system.
The family members ended up selling and moving to escape the hideousness of Trump’s minions and legal team.
Looks like the Scottish justice system grinds along as slowly as ours does. The Cheeto is an expert at gaming the system and uses this to take advantage of anyone getting in his way. It’s also how he’s stayed out of jail.
