Yes that stood out for me as well, but this was the clincher earlier in that piece:
“First off, we should of course explain that this is entirely speculative, and is not science, let alone accepted science. Guillén mixes passages about God found in the Christian Bible with a physics concept known as the “cosmic horizon” to make his argument.”
It’s pure subjective speculation. There is also a glaring false equivalence in his argument.

My artistic analysis/criticism of the picture:
In this picture, we have the main motif/character in the middle of the picture. His head is flanked by a flock of little cherubs floating around his head, like a halo. In this composition, the main character’s big smile contrasts with the somewhat lesser smiles of the cherubs, as if there is some sort of sexual tension there, with the main character having some sort of feeling of accomplishment from his side, while the cherubs are not visibly impressed. This is further underlined by his erect thumb, subconsciously indicating the actual size of his erect male member. His big and somewhat floppy tie covered by his jacket contrasts this by symbolically representing his normally flaccid member, hiding in his underwear. In the front row, there is an asymmetric line of smiling males, of which all but one member are covering their crotches with their hands, as in them being impotent or sexually inactive, or even celibate. The last one, number three from the right, symbolically exposes his crotch, and with a sly smile indicates a certain sexual tension between him and the main character in the middle, by slightly leaning against him.
