Whoo hoo! Is it enough?

Speaking of which, the way is now much clearer for the Orange One to abuse and incite once again.

It now remains to be seen how abysmally unethical and dangerous for the U.S. one POTUS can be and get away with it. And I have a feeling that we shall.

Blame Garland for this. If he hadn’t drug his feed and waited over 20 months before appointing a prosecutor, this case (and the documents case) might have been completed in time to matter.

And it potentially sets (another) concerning Trump-era precedent - a President can try holding on to power by some genuinely treacherous and ugly means and have a ready made argument for why it shouldn’t bother the courts.

Lovely.

“MAGA youth pastor charged with coercing minors to have sex with him”

“Zachary Radcliff, the music and youth pastor at Oakwood Church in Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, is accused of a string of offenses relating to sexually abusive activity”

“The alleged victims were aged between 12 and 17 at the time, Michigan State Police said.”

CITATION

MAGA is coming unglued over Biden giving a pardon to his son. Meanwhile, the orange one has decided that his son in laws father, whom he pardoned (along with his other cronies) should be the U.S. Ambassador to France.

I applaud Biden for pardoning Hunter. It always seemed to me that Hunter was only tried because his last name is Biden. Anyone else would have been given a fine and/or a slap on the wrist.

(For those that don’t know the circumstances, Hunter was prosecuted for two things: lying on Form 4473, which is filled out by anyone purchasing a gun the the U.S. Section 21.f of this form asks if the purchaser is a drug user. Hunter checked the “No” box. That’s it–it’s hardly like he committed a violent gun crime. If the government was serious about enforcing this “crime”, it would have to prosecute tens of thousands in states were pot is legal (it’s still a federal crime to buy and use pot). He could have gotten 25 years for this “crime”. The second had to do with income tax. Hunter had already paid all of the owed back taxes, including penalties and interest by the time he plead guilty.)

And here’s some results of the votes for trump…President Elect Musk is calling for some pretty shitty things (including the shutting down of the government!) just to line his pockets. I guess ending childhood cancer research is worth the possibility of paying 15 cents less for eggs.

I am now convinced that the majority of the U.S. voting public are entirely guided by their own self imposed blind spots when choosing leadership.

It’ll be interesting to see if Trump appeals this to the full 2nd Circuit or the Supreme Court. I’m sure he will because Trump hates to lose.

I find the following music video somewhat appropriate here. Remember to follow the lyrics

Judge Merchan has ordered Donald Trump to appear for sentencing in the hush money case on Jan. 10, 2025.

(His attorneys can still ask the appellate court to issue a stay.)

Unconditional discharge is what Merchan has telegraphed he will order. (This situation’s circumstances dictate that this is the only option.). That means that although trump will be an adjudicated felon when taking the oath of office, he will have exactly zero punishment for his crime.

It will be fascinating to hear what both sides and the judge have to say during this hearing.

“You’re not escaping justice, merely postponing it” from the court would be nice but, you know, giving that orange buffoon his due is trading at a deflated value these days.

Have you seen the t-shirts that say “I’m Voting for the Felon”? They were proud of voting for a criminal.

No, I didn’t see the shirts. I’m actually grateful for that! I wonder what percentage were trying to be snarky, believing he was falsely charged.

He should sentence Trump to jail time and stay the sentence for four years with it becoming effective on January 21, 2029.
