I am so pissed off with theists trying to equate the historicity of the jesus figure (unproven) with the historicity of other figures, first it was Alexander, then Julius Ceasar, and now the latest is Spartacus.
It is nonsense, a furphy, a false equivalence. Spartacus unequivocally existed, we have contemporary accounts from his peers, later accounts sourcing contemporary sources. I am not going to bother myself with this stuff ,I researched it years ago, and came up with the same results as this eminent historian.
Stop writing utter bollocks about Spartacus or any other figure to bolster flimsy arguments for a historical, magical, divine jesus figure as described in the modern gospel texts. It is dishonest and now, tbh, fucking boring.
As @Sheldon says this form of “debate” is pure whataboutism, and can be disregarded as it is nearly always produced by those ignorant of the subject.
