What is your religious or spiritual background, if any?
I was raised by a Christian mother, in a predominantly Christian country.
Was there ever a time you believed in God? If so, why did you think it changed?
I was born an atheist, I was dubious as a child, and have been an atheist my entire adult life. So nothing really changed, since no theist or religious apologist has ever demonstrated any objective evidence.
How important is spirituality to your life now? What are your current religious beliefs about God?
I don’t believe the supernatural exists, and I don’t believe any deity exists.
Do you put Jesus in the same category as other religious figures? Why or why not?
In what sense the same, you will need to be more specific? If Jesus existed has an historical figure, then I do not believe he was anything but human… since there is no objective evidence to support this.
What do you understand the core of the Christian message to be? In other words, what is your understanding of the gospel?
There are over 45k different sects and denominations globally describing themselves as Christian, but I don’t believe in any deity or anything supernatural as I said above, and the gospels are anonymous hearsay, derived from an epoch of extreme ignorance and superstition.
Are there any things that attract you to Christianity? And are there any things that turn you away?
In what way attract? I generally only object to beliefs they are obviously pernicious, misogyny, racism, homophobia etc.
What would it take for you to believe in God in general and Christianity in particular?
You needn’t narrow it down to Christianity as I subject all claims to the standard, and only believe what can be supported by sufficient objective evidence.
To be honest you could click on people’s names. and answer most of these from their profiles. I’m also wondering what you want to debate, since this is a debate forum?
