I retract my advocation of his work.

Ah, Christopher Langan - Wikipedia
I see now that I’ve actually read about that person before, and video commentaries about interviews with him. Yeah, crackpot seems to be right.

This seems like a contradiction. There is nothing outside reality, but “God’s” mind is seemingly outside reality, defining itself into reality. Bollocks.

It can also be conceived of as a vast cheese pizza.

Conceiving is not demonstrating.

A pizza with only cheese? That’s inconceivable to me.

Thank you guys for rebutting Christopher Langan.

I edited the wikiversity page to remove him and also add Circumstantial evidence.

Tell me what you think;

Circumstantial evidence of God

This appears to be an apologetic for young earth creationism and I have seen all these assertions before. Assertions are all that they are. If there is scientific substantiation for any of it, I’d love to see it. All I see are things like YouTube videos.

“young earth creationism” teaches that a creative day is 24 hours long

I calculate that a creative day is 9,500 years long.

Can you rebut the things in the videos?

That’s nice.

Can you present the science that has been done here? What peer review have these claims received? In what recognized scientific journals?

Well there has been years of debating atheists, studying hard, doing experiments, and writing proofs. Now I created a wikiverisity research project to get public review… and after that step it will be peer review.

But these are University works that I cite;

What is it about atheism (or this forum) that attracts crackpots?

I must admit that I sometimes have crackpot ideas myself, but I like to believe that I abandon these ideas after I’m shown to be wrong.

I consider myself to be reasonably intelligent and that I have a small talent for math and physics, yet I couldn’t follow most of this guy’s notations.

Am I just being dismissive and/or intellectually lazy?

I have just had the ghost of Captain Cat arrive with whiskers bristling and swipe me with his murder mittens. “Crappola!” He hissed! Then I swear he said “look here’s 10 IQ points you dropped under the desk, just reading this shite…”

I was about to continue the conversation but he slowly vanished all but his whiskers…and then they went as well.

That didn’t take long, begging the question fallacy.

Sigh…

Gibberish.

Nope, I don’t think proof means what you think it does. It is a philosophical idea, and all one need do is flick on any news channel to see hwo much traction it has gained.

Well quelle surprise.

Probably why his spiel comes across as gibberish.

" Errol Morris even directed a short documentary episode on Langan titled The Smartest Man in the World . However, his pet theory, the “Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe,” appears to the casual observer to be a steaming mound of incoherent babbling, and Langan has reportedly used ad hominem attacks against those asking him to explain it further, which does not bode well for his “misunderstood genius” claims."

It appears you were bang on the money Nyarl…

I don’t think it is objective evidence for any deity, or that a deity is even possible.

All earth days are 24 hours long?

Get a new watch.

No need, the burden of proof always rest with the claim, you’re using an argumentum ad ignorantiam fallacy.

So no then.

Everything after the A…

Oh my, we are now at a level of crackpottery that exceeds my abilities to answer in a calm, polite and civilised manner…
