I am of the opinion that the US christians understand that their numbers, and thus power is shrinking. And this is one reason why they are presently attempting to turn the US into the Handmaidenâs Tale.
I just ran across an interesting bit of research from Pew that supports a christian;s worst nightmare.
It is possible that by 2060 christians will be in the minority in the US.

Thatâs a good article, I have recently been interested in the concept of Americans losing their religion. From my perspective, at least in the Northeast, itâs probably more than predicted. Many people around hear are only at church on Christmas and Easter, and have no real attachment to church. I see more churches closing their doors and moving into strip malls and small house based congregations. Most Christian churches are only the old heads anymore.
Americans around here are so strapped in the rust belt that going to church is a luxury they canât afford anymore. These churches cling to and pander to the old who have money, meanwhile neglecting the younger generations like myself. Churches donât like millennials who are in debt up to their eyeballs in college debt. I mean how can you tithe 10% of your $7.57 you have left in your bank account and you just got paid two days ago? You see all these q-tip corpses up at the pulpit and itâs all so unrelated to modern struggles of being a youth in the digital age.
Christianity, here anyways, is missing the social and cultural shift. Then again, Christianity is stuck in the past and always will be in my opinion. In an ever evolving world of internet activism, I donât think religion can survive. These arrogant moronic old crypt zombie pastors record their sermons and hundreds if not thousands of critics watch and rip them apart on the internet. Suddenly they have lost the safety of talking in their private churches. Theyâve become exposed, and as more and more people see them for the dinosaurs they are, less and less modern tech savvy people will accept their rhetoric.
Church greed is explicitly on display in Pennsylvania, and many of the people I know are fed up with it. We are grinding ourselves to dust trying to eek out a living, and the church is crying it needs more money to pay $80,000 to fix the church organ because the old heads want to sing off key to great grandpaâs boring and horrendous hymns. There are a many great things ruining Christianity here, and itâs all Christianityâs fault. Itâll continue, and as it dwindles, the fanatics and loonies will be the few left in church, and we will enter an age of religious violence.

It has already begun. We have witnessed the supreme courtâs reversal or Roe versus Wade, and other acts based on a desire to cling to ancient values. The christians understand that their tight grip on the US is slipping. And they are grasping even harder to what they have, attempting to control more and roll back the clock to some imaginary time. But each year the internet is stripping away the bullshit, the scammers are being exposed, there are open conversations on why those televangelists live in insane luxury in mansions and estates.
The enemy to religion is rational thinking and education.

Religions does not control where I live in Toronto. Of course we have many churches, but no one openly walks about proclaiming their faith and demanding others follow. Well, not all, there are the infrequent JWâs on street corners handing out pamphlets. Many years ago there was one individual in our work crew. He had a few screws loose, but he was an OK guy. He quit and went away for a few years to later visit us and proclaimed he met a wonderful woman in Philadelphia, and found god. Full bore born again. The rest of us, about twenty of my buddies just rolled our eyes and silently agreed he had lost his marbles.
When I look back on that incident in the early 80âs the numbers tell it all. One dedicated theist and about twenty who didnât give a shit.
And that was 40 years ago.

Here in Australia christians of all sects are now in the minority of the general population. Catholicism has lost 30% of its regular attendees in the last year, that is on top of the mass abstentions after the various child sex scandals and Royal Commission enveloped the institution.
Pentecostalists are still trying to network their power and influence but after the last general election their finances and memberships are decliningâŚagain a sex scandal involving young boys and the complete hypocrisy exposed amongst their âeldersâ.
Their latest poster boy of the Christian Right, is the just installed Chairman of a major Footy ClubâŚbooted because of his homophobic and misogynistic viewsâŚafter only a month in the jobâŚI did laugh very hard at that one.
It seems Aussies ( after the debacle of a dishonest, scheming and utterly incompetent Prime Minister) have torn the veil and gaze upon the venal nakedness of the festering sore that is organised religion with ill concealed contempt.
I will point out we didnât have a civil war about it eitherâŚbut then we keep guns out of the hands of nutters, the mentally challenged and those seeking penis replacementâŚbikies and the cops at the moment seem to be the only ones shooting each other.

I became interested in this forum because of the harm and damage thatâs done in the name of religion . . . and, perhaps, to try to understand how people can still be killing each otherâin this day and ageâwhen we really know better.
