Here in Australia christians of all sects are now in the minority of the general population. Catholicism has lost 30% of its regular attendees in the last year, that is on top of the mass abstentions after the various child sex scandals and Royal Commission enveloped the institution.
Pentecostalists are still trying to network their power and influence but after the last general election their finances and memberships are decliningā¦again a sex scandal involving young boys and the complete hypocrisy exposed amongst their āeldersā.
Their latest poster boy of the Christian Right, is the just installed Chairman of a major Footy Clubā¦booted because of his homophobic and misogynistic viewsā¦after only a month in the jobā¦I did laugh very hard at that one.
It seems Aussies ( after the debacle of a dishonest, scheming and utterly incompetent Prime Minister) have torn the veil and gaze upon the venal nakedness of the festering sore that is organised religion with ill concealed contempt.
