Just because we don't believe

Evelyn Waugh tells a story of Randolf Churchill (son of Winston Churchill). They were stationed together during WW2 and Waugh was finding 24 hours
a day of Churchill somewhat “wearing”.
Finding that Randolph had never read the Bible the next time He was being particularly annoying,
Waugh bet him that he couldn’t read the whole bible in two weeks, hoping that it would shut him up for two weeks.
Instead, Randolf kept reading aloud the most grizzly bits of the Old Testament , bursting into the tent in the middle of the night and laughing ‘Isn’t God a shit?’

I think that says it all.
