eta: a quick search reveals that according to the CDC (so I assuming this is American deaths only) between During February 12–October 15, 2020; 53.3% of the deaths were from people sorted into the male pigeon hole.
eta2: This peer reviewed medical journal reports a wide variety of different ratios (none of them as high as 2:1) from different regions of the world; with the female pigeon hole group dying more often than the male in many Asian countries (especially India).
